Dragon Ball GT credits japanese.

Post by Hitiro » Mon Oct 29, 2012 5:35 pm

Is there anywhere where I can find the GT credits subbed or, if possible, a place on Toei Animation(or Funimation's) webpage where I can read the full japanese credits list for myself? As apparently I can't use this site as a reference because the clueless person I am explaining something to believes this site is just a trolls heaven.

I think that's a mighty good sign that you shouldn't give said person any attention.

I have, but multiple references would be nice for future references. Relying on a single source is kind of bad however you look at it.

Sounds like you need some screenshots or something if good old Kanzenshuu won't work, which is rather odd.

Well, you can use FUNimation's credits as proof of whatever, but they left out a ton, and messed up a lot too. So, you can either find a way to use this site, or pretend to know Japanese and use the Japanese credits from the DVD or...wherever (I forget if FUNi just used blank credits for the Japanese side of things).

FUNi's GT singles do have the Japanese credits intact. :)

There's no way we'd put this much time and effort into a website just to have it be all made up bullshit. I think it'd take even more effort on our part to make stuff up, which trust me, we're way too lazy to put that much effort into it. On top of that, I've worked a lot outside this past year, so I have a fairly good tan going. :P

As far as the credits go, Kanzenshuu is really the only place you'll find all the full credits. The official Japanese websites have never posted full credits, just the main staff and cast credits, and FUNimation has always used textless opening and ending animations to display their own in-house dub credits. They did translate the original Japanese credits for Dragon Ball Kai and left the original GT credits intact, but that's it. However, if you know any Japanese at all, it's easy to see we've accurately translated the credits. I mean, we list the credits in Japanese as well just so people can double check our work if they want. I will note that the credits are like my second baby, and I take great pride in putting forth every effort to make sure they're as accurate as possible.

Our evil plan:

1. Spread lies about Japanese DB credits.
2. ????????
3. Profit!

Anyway, what's the bone of contention the GT credits are supposed to settle? Is there intense debate over who voiced Rild?

Clearly, they're arguing over whether a particular in-between animator is better than another one. Because as we all know, they are the ones responsible for writing GT's plot.

The debate was actually about the scriptwriters who were involved in making the episodes. I was curious as to if there were any subbed credits out there for the episodes to show who wrote which screenplay for the episodes. Because I trust the work you guys put into getting all this information I just just quoted the Japanese names(Written in Japanese aswell as English) and pretended I had looked through the credits myself to find the names. Sad as it would be for a person who doesn't know any Japanese apart from a few phrases to actually take the time and go through each line of the Japanese credits trying to compare the characters for each name that rolled up on the screen just to be right. XD

Well, the credits for each episode are always listed in the same order. So if you knew when that specific credit appeared, it really wouldn't be too difficult, especially if you're looking for the scenario/scriptwriter credit, as it's the very first credit listed in the ending credits. And since there were only six (6) scriptwriters for GT, it wouldn't be too hard to figure out who wrote the script for that particular episode, even if you don't know Japanese. The main episode credits are listed on Japanese Wikipedia as well, so you could look them up there. You could also look them up on Toei Animation's official website for Dragon Ball GT, although ever since Toei revamped the website back in 2004 you now have to know this URL since it's no longer linked to by the main pages; for some reason they just left the pages up. Anyway, just search for the 脚本 (kyakuhon) credit, which is for the scriptwriter. You'll see that they all match what we have listed on the website, which we translated from the actual episode credits included on the Japanese Dragon Box GT.
