Bootleg Videos?

Post by Ppk01 » Tue Nov 08, 2005 11:12 am

I was browsing Interweb™ (as one does) and I came across [administrator edit: a certain] website selling bootleg Dragon Ball DVDs. Then the idea hit me - a Bootleg Video/DVD guide on Daizenshuu EX! There is already a bootleg CD section, so I think a bootleg DVD section would be a valuable addition to the website. What do you think?
Signature? What signature?

Haha. There's a link to buy the DBZ OVA there too! With such a reputable site, Mike must be wrong about the OVA :P

Those were bootlegs? I thought those were the Chinese (or Cantonese, I forget) equivalent of the Dragonboxes, except done by season instead of saga.

EDIT: Nevermind, he just swiped four of their box-sets' cover art. Pure bootleg, alright.

EDIT 2: **Browses the non-Z boxsets** HOOO yeah, they're all bootlegs. GT's "boxsets" cover arts would actually make decent box-sets for FUNi.

If we had a bootleg movie page, then we'd have to include toys, merchandise, and other stuff as well, like these. I actually own a couple of Iron-on transfer sheets with images from one of the art books(?)

EDIT: I just happened to have stumbled upon this on accident. XD

So, according to that cover, Bardock and Raditz are one in the same. OMG! Goku you killed your brother AND your father!
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

What do you expect from a nearly-extinct race? Surely you wouldn't expect them to have children with women from Earth.

Nope. :P

Actually that's a fansub, isn't it? From the start of Z to the end of the Namek saga had that cover with different titles, post-Namek to end of Cell games had Trunks, and everything else had Great Saiyaman.

That entire race doesn't seem to have any women at all. As a matter of fact, I've only seen ONE female saiyan, and I think that was in the Bardok special.

I think they all share the same woman.

Not true. In Kaio-sama's story of their history, we see one standing in the front when he first mentions the Tsufurujins and Saiyajins and they show the Saiyajins in a group dressed like cavepeople. The one standing in the front with the knife in her mouth is female.

In the Bardock Special, you can see a couple of females in the scene where Bardock goes to that bar type place to try and warn the other Saiyajins about Freeza. There's one right in the front shot of them gathered around Bardock as a matter of fact. She's got purple hair.

And Toriyama mentioned that they do indeed (obviously) exist, in Shonen Jump issue 1.

I wouldn't be surprised if the female Saiyajin are involved in a sex slave trade of some sort.

But now that's going off topic. Pertaining to the video, I'm guessing that it is the fansub since the site I got it from said that it was a B-C quality.

My guess is, since in general males have more muscle mass, etc, that the Saiyans simply have a larger percentage of men, as the Saiyan race is equipped for fighting. This inbalance would keep the race from growing beyond its carying capacity, and would also explaing how they didn't conquer the universe.
