Budokai 3 vs. Infinite World
Haven't played in either in a while, but weren't their gameplays almost the same? Infinite World added those aura bursts from Shin Budokai and modified Hyper mode into the Ki Burn and removed the power struggles and Dragon Rush crap, but i think that was it
While I liked the power struggles, I don't really like having to constantly the analog sticks. As for the Dragon Rushes, those were lame. I think the Ki Burn was better than Hyper mode from what I remember. so yeah i prefer infinite world i guess. still, honestly, infinite world feels like an inferior shin budokai/burst limit. i don't like how they nerfed the fighting system in infinite world to be more like budokai 3.

I love both games but I'd have to go with B3 overall. Mainly just because I prefer the Story Mode and the level up system. And it has a Tournament mode and I felt like Dragon Arena gave it more replay value. Although it might just be the major nostalgia I have for that game.
IW is probably the more balanced game and also better as a competitive fighter seeing as it ditched Dragon Rush and all the button mashing clashes. I did enjoy the minigames it had.
Also IW had the issue that you couldn't choose the destroyed versions of stages without selecting them on random while B3 let you choose them whenever.

Re: Budokai 3 vs. Infinite World
Everything Infinite World changed they did to streamline the gameplay and keep a fast pace throughout the match. No more beam struggles that force you to stop fighting and wiggle them around for a bit, no more Dragon Rushes that take a goddamn hour to play out, no more fatigue meter that causes you to lose control for a few seconds after taking too much damage or limits the usefulness of hyper mode, the game is just super fast paced and way more fun than Budokai 3. The aura dash really speeds/opens up your movement possibilities, being able to burn your energy meter to do a perfect guard and completely negate damage is a really fun mechanic, the ability to throw a super move as a finisher to your combo at any point instead of just at the end of a few pre-set combos is fantastic. Everything about Infinite World is just great and a nice step up from Budokai 3.
The only problem with the game compared to Budokai 3 is that the story mode is pretty lacking, and since the game doesn't have any online play that's likely where you'll be spending most of your time with the game. I played Budokai 3 a few times with friends back around when it came out, but I never got the chance to play Infinite World with anybody. Still, despite the structure of the story being pretty lame Infinite World is the game I revisit when I want to play a DBZ fighter.

Budokai 3 easy. No beam struggles is blasphemous.

IW for sure. It's a lot faster and smoother and removes everything that didn't work in B3. Ultimates are actually useful.
I preferred the storymode too. The minigames were a fun and fresh idea. Dragon Universe was fun the first time but dreadfully boring afterwards and going through it with every character got annoying. IW's got annoying too after a while though.

It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

It does have a fatigue meter.Dr. Machismo wrote:infinite world didn't have a fatigue meter?

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Whoops, my bad. I could have sworn it didn't, and looked up a YouTube video really quick to check and didn't see one. They must have redesigned it, but they got rid of your character becoming tired when hyper mode ended which was the worst part of the fatigue meter in B3.DBZAOTA482 wrote:It does have a fatigue meter.Dr. Machismo wrote:infinite world didn't have a fatigue meter?

Re: Budokai 3 vs. Infinite World
I agree with Budokai 3 having a little more details like beam clashes etc, but overall I'd have to choose Infinite World. I tended to enjoy the story mode more than B3's. Even though I'm not so big on GT, I enjoyed the fact Infinite World had GT Goku and GT Vegeta within the Character Selection.

Re: Budokai 3 vs. Infinite World
Infinite World for me, no contest. I kinda miss Kid Goku and Uub from the roster (who really misses Kaioshin, who technically never fought in the series). But! I get the whole portion of GT as a bonus with all three main villains (Baby Vegeta should've had his forms, or at least the first one) and I totally love GT Vegeta as playable character! I like the linear Story Mode with minigames and cutscenes. Snake Way run was really fun for me
My only complaints are lack of Tournament and no power struggle during Ultimate attacks with the new characters.

Re: Budokai 3 vs. Infinite World
Infinite World really should have had General Rilldo, Majuub and Nuova Shenron. But they chose to give us Great Saiyaman 2 instead?
I strongly dislike GT, but it should have had more representation in Infinite World.
