Hi, the UK DBZ DVD's I orderd finally came so I made some sound clips if anyone was curious as to how they sounded there here are some sound clips...

Unfortunately, the other films won't be released on DVD, so you won't be able to hear the dialogue in them. The Slug movie has some of the worst in it though.

Goku alsao says "They are alike physical but when it comes to right and wrong they're opposites".

..Wow. I'm sorry, FUNimation. I take everything back I said about you guys. THIS is the worst English dub. x_X

Goku's voice is way too deep and sounds somewhat the English voice for Yugi's counterpart from Yu-Gi-Oh! Everyone sounds completely off and a ton of names are changed.

This is not only awful, but hilarious as hell. Sounds like a really bad fan-dub, translated by people who don't know any Japanese. Lord only knows what the hell Kuririn was doing after firing the "Magnetic Discs" when shouting like an idiot. Shenlong sounded like he was in a hurry..and was normal sized rather than large, otherwise he'd have had a big, booming voice. I also didn't know that Scouters were "personal computers" that could also tell what race someone was. 8D

Yamucha's voice isn't too bad, but just doesn't fit completely. I would assume this is also the dub where Piccolo is named "Big Green," isn't it?

This is so hilariously bad! Turle$ sounds like the boss on Seinfeld and Goku sounds like Birdman. Bulma's voice is annoying, Yamcha's is ok, and Kuririn and Gohan's sound awful.

Holy crap, when making the Genki Dama I was just waiting for Goku to yell "I have the POWERRRRRRRRRRR!"

This was freakin' hilarious, thanks for those clips! :D

Can you give us some info on the disks? What movies are available? Where can we buy them? What region are they? Are they NTSC or PAL? Any extras? etc.

I might seriously get these, they sound like a riot! :lol:

The Strongest Guy in the World (The World's Strongest), Super Battle in the World (Tree of Might) and Super Saiya Son Goku (Lord Slug) are the only ones available as DVDs in Region 2. The cover art is piss-poor, done in about 5 minutes on Photoshop with the Glowing Edges tool, back cover synopsises have been taken from FUNimation's website (the Tree of Might one is even used for the Slug film). Extras are "Trading Cards" (I don't know either) which are, to be honest, a load of crap. Basically some useless information with a common as hell picture found in Google, hilariously, Dr. Briefs is branded as Dr. Wheelo. The other extras are a link to Cartoon Network and a link to the now defunct "www.dragonballzfan.co.uk" website (though the site looked professional enough, and was associated with FUNimation). All credits are kept in Japanese, and yet Toonami fails to reveal the voice cast or the dubbing company (not even on TV either, in which the credits where shortened to some Toei Animation info (I'm lying, it just says Toei Animation and then the date at the end)). The films always open with a Toonami ad, advertising all the Z sagas with Ocean's Vegeta rambling a clip from the show.

Good lord, just heard the Goku forming the Spirit Bomb clip, this seems more like a parody than an actual dub adaptation. That was seriously like crossing English Yami-Yugi with Birdman, and a little Adam West thrown in, I couldn't believe it! :lol:

Big Green threatening Talus is no where near as threatening as Piccolo charging at Tullece while saying he'll die if he doesn't let Gohan go. >_>

Proxis is a Belgian site which still has the DVDs, it seems. Though they don't always have up-to-date info 'bout their stocks, twice I tried to order a Ellery Queen novel there, twice it turned out they didn't have it at all -_-; [other orders went fine though]
