"History of Trunks" wardrobe

Post by desirecampbell » Sat Nov 19, 2005 9:09 pm

Hey everybody!

Inspired by Leo Taku, I've decided to actually draw something decent from DragonBall. I've got the idea of doing the last thing (future) Gohan sees before he dies. Looking up from the ground at Trunks - intent on avenging his friend.

Just a couple of problems - I don't know what his pants or hair look like :? I know his hair parts on the right, and he's wearing a long sleeve "capsule" baseball shirt. But I don't know what his hair looks like SSj and I don't know what kind of pants he wears.

Whee! Always nice to hear when I inspire people. :P

Here, do these help? http://www.saiyanultimate.com/trunkscaps.html

I like what you have going so far. The angle is pretty good. Can't say much else since it's a work in progress. But I'll look forward to it.
Good luck. :)

Not that anyone cares, I just hate the feeling of an unfinished thread, but I finished it.

I'm a little disapointed, but I think it's pretty good.

I think the artwork is really good, but man oh man, that does NOT resemble Mirai Trunks at all, lol. Different style, I suppose. Looks a lot like those Dragonball Drawings that other Manga Artists did around the time of the Kanzeban (or was it part of it...?)

Yeah, I tried to get it looking more like him, but I kept having to strech him out. That and I'm not really good at it :P

I'm planning to do another Future Trunks picture tommorow.

Eh, don't worry too much about it; I personally prefer fanart to not look exactly like the original source material.
The colouring looks interesting on him, what is it? A certain layering technique over the background layer? Or am I totally off?
The lightning looks good too.
And the arm proportions remind me of something I might've drawn, not too long ago. Particularly the forearm down.

Look forward to more. :P

Actualy, it's a really basic filter technique for the rain, I did 'clouds' then somthing ('ripple' maybe, I can't remember - but it probably doesn't matter) and then 'graphic pen'. Then I put it ontop of everything else and set the layer to "soft light". Plus a little erasing near the face.
Trunks' colouring is just 'brush' with the proper color, each color on it's own layer, and the line art on the top-most layer.

And I'll have more later - If anyone's interested.

Ah. With a look like that, I knew a fair bit had to be involved. :P
Thanks.

Here's Vegeta, did it yesterday, and I think it's pretty good. I'm going to do a couple more like it.

That one's pretty cool. 8)
Back view images I find are pretty uncommon, so that sets it apart some more. And the colouring's pretty funky; it's somewhat unorthodox, so it makes it more interesting to me.
Fun. :P
Thanks for sharing it.
