Scenes That Make Your Blood Boil

Post by Great Saiyaman » Fri Dec 09, 2005 3:26 am

Does anyone have that one scene or 2 where you are having trouble controling your rage at a certain scene? For me it's when Bee is shot by that gunman, I mean what a ruthless jerk. To shoot an innocent little dog. Man that just pissed me off.
Vegito: What do you call a Goku & a Vegeta? Gogeta sounds nice.
Toriyama: *wak*

Me and Son Gohan really clicked when Piccolo met his end.

No Dragonball scene actually make me that angry to be honest.

Tell a lie, I actually don't like Dodoria killing Karugo, it was a bit cold, even my friend said 'aww leave it out' when he went for Dende. Luckily Gohan dived up and this triumphant music plays.

I got really ticked at that scene with poor Bee getting shot too, though a lot of my anger was placated when Mr. Satan beat the guy up. Those two scumbags in general angered me. That other part where they killed the elderly couple was actually quite disturbing to me. Can't say I felt too badly when Buu killed them.

I always hate watching that scene where Nappa kicks Gohan right in the stomach before the scene cuts to Kamesennin's. It's just harsh looking because of the tiny size of Gohan in comparison to Nappa's foot. It's equal to the size of the boy's torso and I'm suprised Gohan doesn't die right then from a ruptured liver or something.

I tend to get angry at the scenes where the children are physically harmed. I hated when Vegeta beat Gohan up shortly after they were back on Earth from Namek. I also hated when Vegeta kicked Dende after he healed him. I'm just the type that really gets angry at seeing stronger people bully those weaker than them, so I guess that's why.

It's like stuff is coming back to me!

I too disliked Vegeta treating Dende out of order, it was quite raw, after he healed him. Although I found it funny when he wanted he's wish and he threw Dende down, and when he went to dust himself off Vegeta shouts 'Stop messing around!'. That was funny.

And now that I think of it, Freeza is also a piss taker for implaing Kuririn on he's horn and shaking him about, that took the piss, I didn't like that, and that was when they showed it on the dub! When I watched it in Japanese it's more of a 'shut the fuck up' bit, something's happening. And everyone was silent as hell(Well, unless Goz and Mez are about that is).

Was it just me or did it feel good seeing Mr. Satan beat someone up good?

And when Rikoom broke Gohan's neck, that wern't too nice to witness, although Gohan asked for it, he should have just played along till Goku arrived or something.

Ya, like I said I was happy when Mr. Satan beat them. It's the main reason why I like him, along with his comical attempts to kill Buu at first. I was totally cheering Mr. Satan on as he went "postal" on the guy.

Let's see, when Piccolo Daimao killed Chaozu, when Videl was torn apart by Spopvitch (talking the Uncut version here), those bastard humans sniping the innocent old couple and Bee, and San Xing Long possibly raping Pan (I mean that literally too, just watch GT episodes 54 - 56 and tell me differently). There're many of moments where I just get straight up pissed beyond belief, those key instances being examples. :x

Ummmm, no. This is DB we're talking about here, not "Bastard!" or "Beserk".

Jersey, did you even see those episodes? I swear it seemed very implied considering the way Pan looked. Besides, I didn't say she was actually raped, I said "possibly". By the way, people kill, people have pre-marital sex, and people do many of other questionable things in the DragonBall world (even homosexuality), what makes you think it isn't possible for Pan to be raped? Even in original DB, Bulma ran into a couple Red Ribbon guys that seemed to have that idea in mind.

Because it's bloody Dragonball that's why. Trust me, Toriyama barely ever had any kinds of sexual references other than ecchi stuff for the purpose of comedy in his manga. As he's revealed in interviews, he's really never been interested in that sort of thing, thus has no time for it.

The Roshi type stuff as I said before is for light-hearted comedy purposes. There's a BIG difference between ecchi and hentai. Implying that Pan was raped would fall into the hentai category. Especially at such a young age, it falls under the even more specialized category of NC loli hentai. I really highly doubt that Toriyama or in this case Toei would be going that root. It's a show aimed at kids, done by a studio that does a great many shows for kids.

Ya, there's some implied homosexuality, but once again it's pretty much for comedic purposes. That scene with the Village People guy blowing kisses at Trunks comes to mind. Killing? Well that's there, but like all fighting anime aimed at kids, the heroes always come back and the villains deserve to die anyway. The pre-marital stuff? It's still a grown man and woman. I assume you're referring to Buruma and Vegeta. That brings me back to the homosexuality. Note in the majority of anime series, homosexuality is either there for comedic purposes or it's a total unrealistic fantasy, such as Utena. The Japanese have always painted a very unrealistic view of homosexuals in there anime. So that issue is really quite tame and non-threatening also.

Truthfully, when thinking of all the animes out there, Dragonball is one of the best examples of "what you see is you get". It's just not an anime that has these hidden overtones or implied dark secrets. The problem is people ALWAYS want to believe that there's ALWAYS a deeper meaning to everything, especially in anime it seems. Toriyama just isn't that type of guy.

Ironic that the term "ecchi" was derived from the English use of the word "hentai"

You make great points, and I'll be one to say that something such as rape shouldn't have any place in DragonBall period. Thing is, the subject we're debating about (Pan and San Xing Long) gives an implying sense that the very event of rape may have ocurred, and you must understand I'm speaking from my point of view about this thing with Pan. Also, you didn't answer my first question, did you even see those GT episodes (54 - 56)? I'd like to hear your opinion on that matter with Pan and San Xing Long with a "seeing with your own eyes" view on it.

I never said he raped her, I said "may have possibly raped her". Where this comes from is DragonBall GT episodes 54 - 56. I mean the way she looks through out episodes 56 and 57, it seems implyed IMO. You could always pick up the FUNi "Realization" GT DVD for $15 at a Best-Buy to see what I mean.

Toriyama might not have been that kind of guy - but what about, um, whoever wrote that GT episode?
