Why didn't Kuririn just use destructo disk?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Why didn't Kuririn just use destructo disk?

Post by Daizensushi-x » Tue Jan 17, 2006 12:53 pm

When Cell and Gohan were both struggling to overpower eachother with their kamekamehas, everybody jumps in and blasts Cell with all of their ki, except Vegeta. Wouldn't it of been easy if Krillin just used his destructo disk on Cell? That would have cut him in half, allowing Gohan to win, if everything went right.

Thats assuming the destructo disc would have went thru Cell. The Big Bang Attack only made him flinch.

Assuming that the Distructo Disk would actually cut through Cell (it almost assuradly wouldn't) It might actually cause two Cells. We've seen Cell regenerate his torso from just his legs, and we've seen him regenerate limbs too. So cutting him in half would actually be the worst thing Krillin could do. :D

I don't think there would be two Cells, as this isn't Buu we're talking about. For Cell it would depend on which half had the nucleus at the time. The half with it would just have regenerated the rest of the body.

Because then Gohan wouldn't have been the hero. :)

When the Perfect form of Cell first emerged in the anime, Kuririn did use a Kienzan on Perfect Cell. Although it went through, the Kienzan cracked then dissipated while Cell's neck was intact. So had Kuririn used them while helping Son Gohan, it wouldn't have caused a different effect.

I used to wonder why Krillin didn't throw one at Frieza when he was blinded. True it would've been anti-climactic, but it would've worked.

Yes, and especially since the Cell Gohan is fighting is a lot more powerful that the Cell back when Kuririn used Kienzan on him, the attack would have done nothing.

Hell, the characters get lots of opportunities that they never actually use.
Like if Goku were charging up a Kamehameha, why doesn't his opponent just attack him, instead of standing still, gasping in horror? It takes him quite a few seconds to finish saying "Ka..me...ha...me...HA!"

I just realized, the only one that actually did try to kill one of the characters during a transformation/power-up was Mirai Trunks when Cell had finally absorbed #18 and was becoming perfect. It was unfortunate that he failed though. :/

If memory serves, Gohan tried to Kamehameha Buu's egg when it was watching, but it was unaffected.

It was. The egg flew straight up and landed on the ground.

As others have said before, that would've been rather anticlimatic. Although I can quite enjoy anticlimatic endings, I doubt most fans would've enjoyed it. XD

Well, more like the egg itself, or its condition. It was sent flying, but it wasn't actually damaged.

Of course, I'm most likely wrong about that too. ^^;; It's been years since I've been the manga and anime of that.
