Ryo Horikawa (Vegeta) at Anime Expo 2005

Hey, I was browsing the net, (in search for a large version of the cha la head cha la 2005 cover art) and I came across a site, it had illegal mp3's, but I found this on the website, it's Vegeta Japanese VA speaking in English, now, the link here goes to another website which doesn't have the illegal mp3 links, so, I figured it'd be ok to post it.

He must have to gone to America in 2005 for some Expo...he says this when he is asked to imitate Vegeta in English...

You can tell everyone's on a hype there all laughing and stuff, there's even a picture of him taken while he's talking as Vegeta...unfortunately it link's to the actual site...fortunately I'll use imageshack...



This is obviously not that old, and I doubt many have heard this, so if you are a Vegeta fan(I am, note my name ), and have always wondered what he would sound like if his Japanese Seiyuu spoke in English, here you have it.

If this is unnacceptable then remove the link by all means.

It was really cool how he said it in English. My favorite part would be when he said "AND I AM THE KING!"

Also, was it just me, or did he like..mess up the easiest thing to remember? He said Vegeta, or Bejiita, as Vejzzita. I think that if he said Bejiita, it would have been perfectly acceptable.

Oh well, I'm not hatin' on him or anything, just thought I'd point that out.

My friend was telling me about his experience of Expo '05, in which someone asked a pretty incoherant question about "WELL HEY YOU WERE WORKING ON DBZ AND DBGT AND STUFF AND YOU KNEW THE VOICE ACTOR FOR KIRLLEN AND SHE ALSO DOES LUFFY IN ONE PIECE SO HOW WAS IT WORKING WITH HER OK!?", to which he gave a most tremendous "I do not understand what you are saying! Speak slower!"

Would have been nice!

You can tell when he's voicing Vegeta for DBZ he puts on a much deeper voice, his real voice isn't that deep, it's more like Vegeta's 'in shock' voice.

He does say Vegeta quite wierd, but he probably was quite shocked to be on stage and be greeted by all these American anime fans, he did say it's his first time to America.

You must hear Horikawa do Shun (Saint Seiya) or Hattori (Detective Conan). Totally different voice. A lot softer and higher (especially with Shun).

I haven't seen him in any other anime...but I take it this man can vary his tone of voice good then because Vegeta has a deep voice, it actually gets softer as the series progresses(doesn't it?), as I recall, when he first arrives with Nappa(despite being small) he has a deep, serious voice.

He actually looks quite mean in the still image. He is putting on that face for the Vegeta impersonation though...

That's kind of the point of this topic...

In the first link near the start of my topic he is speaking as Vegeta, somebody asked how Vegeta's voice would sound in English and he done it. It's the clip where there is laughter in the beginning...

This is what he says...

And yea, that Vegeta is wicked desire campbell, he actually looks a bit like Vegeta.

His natural voice was far different than I expected and never realized that Vegeta was actually one of his "character" voices.

He didn't really sound like he was actually even USING his Vegeta voice o_O; That and it's kind of hard to understand what he was saying without Bejita's subtitle...
