South Park anime spoof

Post by Sun_Wukong » Thu Mar 18, 2004 8:25 pm

I dont know if they were specifically spoofing DBZ, but did anyone catch the season premier of South Park, "Good Times With Weapons" ? The four buy weapons and turn into ninja. Being an anime fan really helped make this episode funnier.

*I'm not sure if this was the right forum for this topic

It felt like a spoof of Legendary Armor Samurai Troopers, to me anyway.

They also did a Pokémon spoof. Chinpokomon or something. The Japanese excuse for creating something so strange had to do with the size of their penis or something.

Then they all were randomly speaking Japanese in class with the anime-smiley expressions and everything.

Random quotations:
Mom: "My son hasn't made sense in weeks!"
Cartman: "Sou desu ne! ^_^"
"Well, Diane, I'm sure you and your brother are devistated for the two-headed monster that could have been," ~ Tom Tucker.

Julian, did you see it? Could you possibly translate the "image song" from that episode? I know its probably just a bunch of jibberish, but it would be funny to see a translation

I seem to remember in the South Park movie, Cartman had a Ki aura around him at one point that looked very DBZ esq.

I think (though I'm not sure) that Cartman was spoofing Super Saiyajin Goku, and I think he did a hand move similar to the Kamehameha.

I missed that episode of South park. :(

It was definitely a DBZ spoof in the movie. The way Cartman's hair went all spikey, the swooshy background, the way he spaced his string of swear words in a "Ka...me...ha...me..." manner. Everything.

I did see it... it went something like:
South Park insert song wrote:Hey hey let's go Kikasu
Taisetsu na mono Protect my balls
Boku ga warui Let's fighting
Let's fighting love
Out of that, "Kikasu" means either "to let it be known" or "to liven things up," depending on the kanji... and I forget which one they used. "Taisetsu na mono" means "precious things" (and I think all the males here will agree about the validity of the Engrish that follows it). "Boku ga warui" just means "I'm bad." It's a big joke, really. :)

And personally, that episode left me wondering how most parents would react to Goku's numerous "wardrobe malfunctions" in early DB. :D

There's a third possibility, which is that the word was meant as gairaigo. Seeing as how it's South Park, my money is on "kick ass."

That being said, the kanji in the subs was "kenka suru," (quarrel, scuffle, fight).

That's just the chorus, though. Preceding it was this verse (also with subs):
South Park insert song wrote: Subarashii chinchin mono
Kintama no kami (ke*) aru
Sore mo (Sono*) oto (ha*) saru bobo
Iie, Ninja ga imasu!
(* denotes differences in the subs from the actual lyrics heard)

Which more or less translates as:
"There are those with magnificent penises,
And hair upon their testicles.
What's more, there's the sound of monkey poon,
No, they are Ninjas!"

After the chorus, there's another verse that goes:
South Park insert song wrote:Kono uta chotto baka
Wake ga wakaranai
Eigo ga mechakucha
Daijobu, we do it all the time
"This song is kind of stupid,
It doesn't make any sense.
The English is all messed up,
That's okay, we do it all the time."

Screw you guys, I'm going home.

Let it be known that chinpo (chimpo) is a Japanese insult regarding one with a "baby-sized penis".

Really though

It got me a translation for that 'Protect my balls' song, so I'm happy.

Its bad enough that the kid did this necropost, we really shouldn't be adding on to this. Vegeta4, SSJ4Gogeta#1, Gogeta101... is anybody else following this pattern? :?

I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

If I remeber correctly in the South Park movie when Cartman powers up it is a play on Street Fighter not Dragon Ball. It is the exact same pose that Akuma has after he wins a fight.
