Question About "Rock the Dragon" Intro

Post by majinrod153 » Mon May 08, 2006 10:55 am

Where in the anime is the part where vegeta is turning super Saiyan in space? I haven't seen it anywhere else.

Was it created only for that opening?

Yup. Most of the North American intro is from Movie 3, but the Original intros feature completly original animation.

You mean the Canadian intro uses footage from Movie 3. I think the US intro uses completely different footage.

"Rock the Dragon" featured a lot of clips from Movie 3, but also used a lot of clips from the first two movies, some from the series and more from CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA.

You hit the nail right on the head. The scenes from CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA are the powering up shots of Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, and Vegeta, Trunks about to slice Frieza, and the end of the Androids-era intro with them all in front. The ending credits of that time used more of CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA. Now that I think about it, back when it was your only access to DBZ, did anyone else like how they did with the intro Goku coming down then going Super Saiyan when the dragon ball fit into the "O" space?

Haha yeah, I remember that, I thought it was really creative, but it gave it away so bad. luckily I have all of that footage from the dvds from the old ocean studio DragonBall Z dub. I remember when I knew nothing about super saiyans, I remember I would tell my friends how, there would be more 'yellowed haired guys' in future episodes XD. I also remember wondering who the hell Trunks and Frieza were.

Same here. I remember being ten and getting the first four episodes of DBZ on VHS and thinking, "Woah, Goku can do that? When the hell does that happen?" Which made the Freeza arc that much more exciting and anticipated for me.

Add me for some HD Remix or SF4.

Until you realized the show was pretty much dead (at the time) and wasn't going to air any new episodes until Cartoon Network reran the first two seasons like hell. XD

Yeah, I remember being confused about some things while watching "Rock The Dragon". I was wondering who Trunks was and why Vegeta and Goku were "turning blonde".

Man, I feel really dumb when I look back at those days.

Hey I remember I was wondering about both guys on Goku's sides as I didn't recognize Yamcha with the short hair. I just figured him and Trunks were more guys who would show up later. As for Vegeta being there, I just thought he was there because he was the main bad guy.

Hehe, I think we were all like that back then.

My friend once brought in a SSJ goku action figure, and I just remember saying things like: "Wait, didn't he have black hair???"

Ah... nostalgia.
There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

Err... Linkin Park (or rather, "Hybrid Theory") didn't even drop a proper mostly-current-lineup demo until 1999 (see Wikipedia entry). That dub began in 1996. It's just another Shuki Levy masterpiece.

It seems to be quite a popular myth that Linkin Park did it.

I had heard that myth used to the point many people think it's fact... I just never believed it, and never really knew who performed it.
