"Akira Toriyama Interviews" From the Daizenshuu

Post by superstar » Fri Jun 23, 2006 9:25 pm

I heard from many people that in the DBZ Daizenshuu's their are more than three Interviews with Akira Toriyama, I wanted to know if this is true because I asked my cousin who has the Daizenshuu's in French and he can not find them. Others have told me who have the Japanese Daizenshuu's says their are more than three interviews that Akira Toriyama explains the DBZ universe's power. :?:

Unless I'm mistaken, they only translated some of the books in French.

I believe each of the (main) books has one interview of Toriyama. I don't know about the "extra" books, but I kinda doubt they have any. So that would be at least seven interviews.

So it has each interview in all seven books! Can anyone translate them or read and find what Akira toriyama says about DBZ's speed and strength feats?

I am going to make a website and if I want my information concerning actual speed and strength feats concening Dragonball z characters I want it from Toriyama's own mouth. Too many guesses and opinions on the internet.

http://www.kanzentai.com/guide/daizenshuu/index.html

And there was a site that had information on how fast the characters were, like Tao Paipai running to and from Karin Tower, Goku comming back from Kaio. 'DragonBall Z Databse"? I can't remember anything, damn you brain!

Oh thankyou for your insight and help desirecampbell! But does anyone have the Akira Toriyama interviews concerning the DBZ world's power and speed from the Daizenshuu's?

There has to be some information of Toriyama explaining how fast the characters moved? The Interviewer had to ask some type of questions in the Daizenshuu.

Besides it states that most of the Interviews are 3-4 pages long.

May I interject here and say how much this all appears to be wishful, over-excited fan thinking?

Toriyama doesn't care how fast the characters move. Toriyama doens't care who can beat who at which point in the series. Toriyama doesn't even remember their god damn names.

He'll "remember" quite a few new things.

Yea he even said about one of the PS2 games that the game creators know more about the series than he knows himself.

Toriyama must have just wiped out DB from his life when he finished it.

Then your cousin is a blind fool. The ONLY written section in the French version of Great Illustrations is at least one interview. There are even rumors circulating that it is all the interviews (of the first 7 daizenshuu) strung together, as the font is very small and because the interview is more than 2-3 pages (which is what they were in Japanese).

Well I talk to my cousin and he has seen the interviews and they are 4 pages and he even said that Toriyama explains that the Saiyajins progression in Dragonball is incredible, he also talks about the anime fillers what he liked and did not like about them, Toriyama also answers the most infamous question about the speed of DBZ. Toriyama said that they went lightspeed!

I asked my cousin the same question he said that is not true at all.

I'm quite doubtful about your cousin - now I'm not saying he's lying - I'm just saying he doesn't know Toriyama very well :P

Toriyama's famous for completly forgetting characters. The is an interview where he was asked about certain characters and he mixed up, or forgot who they were.

All I can find is that he forgot Taopaipai had an important role and he also forgot that Pilaf and his gang's robots could combine.
I also go by "veemonjosh".

Wasn't it during that recent interview when he came to the US to celebrate American Shonen Jump that he forgot who Kamesennin was?
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"

 Wow. Er, I guess Toriyama's getting on in his years. I mean, Kamesennin was in the entire series as at least a supportive character.
What's scarier than a DBZ H-game?
