Early August Updates

Post by VegettoEX » Wed Aug 09, 2006 7:08 am

Yo:

So the Wednesday before Otakon, we lost internet connectivity at home. Blargh. Between working and leaving for the con on Thursday, I just didn't have time to deal with it.

Got home on Sunday, and called Comcast. They'd send a person out on Tuesday. Great, except that no-one came on Tuesday and whoops they'll be coming out Wednesday instead. Yes, because we have the time during the work day to waste like that. Anyway, I somehow pulled an internet connection out of my ass last night by switching all sorts of things around, but I dunno how stable it'll be until Comcast works their greedy and incompetent little magic.

Needless to say, we missed a podcast week. I really didn't want to, and wasn't planning on it. The convention and the lack of internet totally killed any way I could have done it for last week, and now there's no point in doing one for LAST week when by the time it'd be ready for posting, it'll be NEXT WEEK's episode. So this coming episode is going to be all sorts of catch-up on news and convention stuffage, and then we'll finally hit that D.O.N. review episode. Promise.

Carry on!

Well that explains part of the delay. I'm pretty sure everyone was well aware of the convention. Thanks for the update!

You should switch to Verizon, Comcast has gotten so horribly slow in my area.

Hmmm... Comcast was bought by Time Warner cable, and they'll be replacing Comcast everywhere soon. When they announced the change in my area, my download speed kept changing anywhere from dial up speed to 10mbps.

I understand completely, of course. You guys have a great track record and I'm sure nobody is really angry at you for not being able to do it this week.

Thanks for clearing it up though.

So squirrels broke in and chewed up the cable box/cords. All fixed :P.

Y'know what, I just thought of something. Perhaps you should put a message up on the main site for the visitors who aren't a part of the forums, just to tell them what happened and reassure them that you guys are okay and are set for a podcast this weekend. They could be thinking "Well, what happened? Did they die or something?"

I think it depends on what part of town you're in. A friend of mine and I live a few miles apart from each other, and my Comcast seems to be fine (6 to 8 mbps or so) but his has a lot of high latency issues sometimes.

Yeah I was too,

I like listening to the Podcast on the way to work or where ever I am going, just get some odd looks when I break out laughing walking or getting a bus there!

Just want to let people know, just because I don't post to often I am still around reading etc!

So ugh guess this applies to Mike and his underlings Meri/Julian.

How long do you think these Podcasts will last, do you have that many topics?

The episode covering Bardock was my favourite, I like the episodes dedicated to a specific topic which takes up all the time!

Also when Julian was talking about what he got up to in Japan that was cool aswell.

Wow I kinda got off on one there, suppose I have been meaning to say that for a while but just haven't found the place!

Sorry!
