Episode #0041! VegettoEX, Julian, and Meri give a full rundown of just about every single DragonBall reference book released in Japan; the daizenshuu, Perfect Files, LANDMARK, FOREVER, and more! Various game news, Julian's ABCs, and Meri's Top 5 list amusingly related to the topic round out the episode. Referenced sites: Whee! Go ahead and grab it. Big thanks to godofchaos for hosting the monumental *forty-one* episodes, now.

There's nothing like digging through some books for information! We had a ton of fun going through all of our old and new books, alike, to bring the information to you. Plenty of them are still available for purchase (being so recent), so support your fandom and buy them up! Buy, buy, buy!

Sorry it took so long, but I've been... uhh... far away buying more DB books, today :P. Also, if you get stuff from the feed, you got #40 late, so you needed time to catch up...

Why does my anime shop always have things in stock before they're supposed to go on sale? I can already buy movie 13 if I wanted to. Why does amazon bother putting it up for pre order if it's already available?

Heh heh, that Engrish is great. There's some good Engrish in Dragon Ball Forever too, like "Another Bouts," "Andoroid 18," and "Begeta"!

I love the intro by Meri. Very funny XD

I wish I could say "Toriyama, take my money!" too, but I don't have any T___T

DB Landmark considers "Romance" as a landmark?! *shippy inner fangirl squeals* Now I want to see that...

A very informative podcast - again, amazing work, MMJ!

Again, the podcast pwns all. But I must ask this question. Where can I buy the movie mangas? You know the ones where they take screencaps of the movie and make it into a manga? Those ones. I CAN'T FIND THEM ANYWHERE. Any help?

P.S: Podcast pwns!

Kinda funny hearing Meri doing the introduction. :D

Good podcast. I enjoyed the talk about the Daizenshuu's the most. Who know, maybe i'll pick up Daizenshuu #1 since that one is most images. Dont know about the others tough since there is so much writing in the others. Oh well, i enjoyed Meri's top 5 list too. "Remenber Z".

Julians ending to the podcast was hilarious! Julian is "a pretty cool guy". :D

The 4 newest books are very tempting. Does Amazon Japan ship to the US?

*eyes well with anticipation* What about the Z Shops? I would assume most only ship in Japan, but...please?

You can get the Daizenshuu's from Amazon.co.jp, but only sellers sell them. Which means that people in North America can't buy them because they only ship to Japan....

Anyone know where to buy them? :p It would be really nice to add the other daizenshuu's to my bookshelf.

Finally, the Daizenshu episode of the podcast! I've always wanted some kind of run-down of every guide book for the series, and based on your guys' opinions, it looks like Daizenshus 2 and 4 best suit me (heh, it's like those magazine quizes that try to decide what you like for you!). But anyways, based on kanzentai's scans, it looks like the TV Animation Guides' hot re-drawn pictures are worth the search as well. Augh, I can't decide which out of print book I'm willing to search for first!

And just to help fellow Daizenshu searchers out there, it seems that "dragon ball art book" seems to have more results on ebay than"dragon ball daizenshu". The down side? The sellers make you pay around $20 plus $13 shipping to the US. :x Here's the link for anyone willing to spend $40+ on one daizenshu.

Eh, looks like I'll just settle with the Forever and Landmark books. Which reminds me, (ooh transitions!) I took EX and Meri's advice and went to BookOff when I was vacationing in NY and  they had frickin' every kanzenban (except the one where Gohan goes SSJ2 :x) and DB Landmark :). The back cover had some of the glossy part "scratched" off, but it's the inside that counts, right?

Final thouights: Shame on Julian for not getting Daizenshu 7 when he had the chance, and whoever has that one, give the rest of us a run-down of it!

And now... onward to amazon JP!

I've seen some scans from I believe 2, and like EX said, there's writing but most everything is shown so you can get the jist of what's being described.

Anyway, based on your descriptions I plan on getting Daizenshuu 1,2,4,6, and 7 if I can find it. I'm also considering getting the Gt perfect files (yeah, I'm starved for some good Dragonball guide books, even if they are in Japanese as my worn Pojo one is pretty bland). All I need is money. Also, thank you Daemon for the ebay link.

Also, there was something about the way Meri said "Ghourd" that was just hilarious.

I think that's how it is for most of the guides. And given that most of us here are pretty hardcore about the series, I'm sure the only stuff we're missing out on are stuff like the interviews and little tidbit things that no one could've ever picked up from the pictures alone. But yeah, I'm happy with my copy of Landmark, so yay! I think the only "problematic" volume would be the seventh one-- early on in my fandom, I heard that it barely had any pictures for you to pick up from...

And yeah, your welcome for the link. This whole 3-day weekend thing makes me do stuff like search online for stuff under various search names for like an hour . And here's yet another link, this time for amazon US's listings of the daizenshus. Maybe we'll get lucky and someone else will put up their daizenshu in the "Used/New" section for non-highway robbery prices. [/wishful_thinking]

$131+ for just vol 3 alone? Yeah that's definately a rip-off.

Wow that was a good pod cast. The last one is still the best though. Any way does anyone here think there will ever be Daizenshuu books in American text? I believe there will be since I have seen them in multiple languages. I just want your opinions.

This has been discussed multiple times, and my personal thought is that I want them to be translated, but... it doesn't seem that likely, especially since Viz hasn't been doing anything with the product ever since they finished releasing the manga. This question's also been in the podcast, to which the crew answered that it would be pretty difficult, since the manga is under Viz's license and the anime is under FUNi's. :x it's all so frustrating...

Yeah, $130 for one daizenshuu is crazy. The most I'll spend on one is like $70, but that's being desperate because I can't find it anywhere else, and its Daizenshuu#7. That's including S&H btw.
