Broly Question
At the end of one of the Broly movies, it shows Goku siting with King Kai (I couldnt remember the jap name) and Goku says something along the lines of "Whats that? Broly's causing trouble in the Underworld?"
Was he hinting on going down to Hell and fighting Broly?
Also if that happened who do you think would of won?
For me i think Goku would've won. He totaly outclasses Broly.

King Kai = North Kaio-sama
I'm guessing this happens in the second movie since Goku is dead, right? I just watched that movie, but I don't remember that part...I have a bad memory though.
Broly vs. Goku
Goku would beat Broly pretty good. He is a SSj2 at this point, and much stronger than Gohan...but wait...it took SSj Goten, SSj2 Gohan AND SSj2 Goku to beat Broly in the second movie...
Eh...Broly has no skill, Goku has plenty. Broly is just stronger though, and sadly, all you need is strength in Dragon Ball.

I thought it was in the third movie because Broly died for good.
Hmmm to bad i got rid of my Broly movies.

But...Gohan didn't use Ssj2 and Goku was neither Ssj2 (his hair actually gives that away) nor truly there (depending on ones "opinion".Drunken Master wrote: Goku would beat Broly pretty good. Broli would probably lose to Goku how he was during the Cell Game.
Why is that?Duo wrote:Drunken Master wrote: Broli would probably lose to Goku how he was during the Cell Game.
Didnt Goku need Trunks',Vegeta and Gohans energy to finish him off in the first movie, which was set after Cell Games?

I haven't seen the movie, but maybe by "underworld", he meant Earth, as it's the lower world "below" the afterlife, and Goku was in the afterlife. I don't know, I don't really know the context of this line. *shrug*
Like most movies, movie 8, the first Broli movie, doesn't really take place anywhere. Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks are SSJ, yet Gohan is not (at least not in the movie, though the American DVD cover does show him as an SSJ). If he could, why wouldn't Gohan have gone Super Saiyan? So really, it would have to be before the Cell Games, no matter how little sense that makes.Didnt Goku need Trunks',Vegeta and Gohans energy to finish him off in the first movie, which was set after Cell Games?

Actually if you think about it, there would be two dead Brolys in the afterlife. Him and his clone.Maker777 wrote:I thought it was in the third movie because Broly died for good.
Unless of course, clones don't have a soul.

Hee, they just needed a reason for Goku to appear in the movie...
I like Movie 11.

Re: Broly Question
The movies are placed (according to a daizenshuu) during whatever point the anime is at at the time of the movie's release. If I recall correctly, this was released after the start of the Cell Games but before Gohan goes SSj2.Swift wrote:Like most movies, movie 8, the first Broli movie, doesn't really take place anywhere. Well, because 'Jap' was used as a derogatory term people are a but queasy to use it, so many people use 'JPN'. It's still the best way to shorten 'Japan' or 'Japanese'. As long as your meaning is 'Japanese' and not 'slant-eyed, Nazi-sympathizing bastards' I think it's fine.Sun_Wukong wrote:Isnt Jap a bit racist?

I seem to recall Mike saying something about this. If he's against using 'Jap' then we should respect that and refrain from using it.

I do remember Goku saying something about Paikuhan and Broly.
Lol, I remember this old fan-sub I used to have had Goku saying "We need to go on a Pike-hunt!" haha, ridiculous

I think Broli is the most thoughtless villian in the movies. He's like the cliche horror villian, leaning more onto Jason from the Friday the 13th Movies.
I thought the first Broli movie, number 8 I think, was good because like Meri mentioned, Vegeta is such a bitch, more so then Future Trunks (Father!).
Movie 10 (Again I don't know them all by memory) is my favorite Broli movie because he fights in his regular super saiyan form for a bit, without the stupid greenish purple. Also, this is the movie in which Pan is conceived (Whoa, inside joke don't even ask).
Movie 11 just sucked. The only think remotely cool about it was Krillin and 18 did more than Goku.
BTW, someone mentioned that it took Super Goten and Super Saiyan2 Goku and Gohan to defeat Broli.
They way you imply it is like for an example, Trunks had to go SSJ to defeat 'his' Cyborgs. I mean he just because he could go super saiyan, doesn't mean he had to. I hope this is making some sort of sense.
And yes, Goku at least at level two could defeat Broli. If not, I'm sure by the second movie he could reach the third level.
...Uh, What was your question..?

For one, I don't think Gohan or Goku were SSJ2 while unleashing that Kamehameha and two, I don't consider Goku having to 'go SSJ2' to defeat Broli. I see it more of an assist than a desperation attack.Drunken Master wrote:King Kai = North Kaio-sama

Same with Dabura vs Gohan, right? I don't believe it. Gohan's going to use his maximum power when fighting people who are very strong, especially if he's losing and about to be killed. Gohan had to be SSj2 when fighting Broly and Dabura. It's the only way it makes sense, and it's pretty much common sense. If Dabura is around Perfect Cell's power and Gohan is weaker than he was in the Cell games, then how the hell is SSj Gohan going to fight almost equally with Dabura? AT forgets about things as we all know, or seem to know. It's not that far-fetched that he might have forgotten to make Gohan look SSj2 when he was fighting Dabura, then Toei probably just copied the same mistake since it was around the same timeline in the Broly movie. Gohan was getting his ass beaten, so why didn't he go SSj2 and just beat Broly's ass? You can't always believe what you see without pondering on some things. I would also think it would have to take SSj2s to beat Broly in the second movie...I mean...He was practically dead for 7 years. I'm sure the zenkai power made him strong as hell.Duo wrote:But...Gohan didn't use Ssj2 and Goku was neither Ssj2 (his hair actually gives that away) nor truly there (depending on ones "opinion".Drunken Master wrote: Goku would beat Broly pretty good. Was this meant to be a legit example? I've heard everything you just said before I could take the time to refute every last piece of it, but I know petty strength debates aren't encouraged here so I'll just let it be and say I disagree.Drunken Master wrote:Same with Dabura vs Gohan, right? You can refute that? I must say that I'll probably disagree with whatever you would say, but if you're anxious and willing, then pm me with it. As for the quote, I don't know what you're talking about. Maker777 quoted something from someone else with my name quoted.

Re: Broly Question
This is something i thought about too. If you really think about it maybe it was an idea they had for the next movie. The reason i say this because Goku did go to the "underworld" to fight Janemba in Movie 12. Maybe thats why he said it....Maker777 wrote:At the end of one of the Broly movies, it shows Goku siting with King Kai (I couldnt remember the jap name) and Goku says something along the lines of "Whats that? First off, I want to point out it is the worst when someone quotes you when you spelled something wrong because you really can't say shit. Now for the topic at hand. I really doubt that Trunks had to go SSJ to defeat his set of androids. Keep in mind his androids were weaker and he spent at least two days in the room of spirit and time, so his strength should surpass when he was an SSJ fighting Freeza at the very least. What I want to know is was Trunks and upgraded super saiyan fighting his androids and the Cell Jrs.?Drunken Master wrote:Was this meant to be a legit example? I know all too well about the quoting thing, haha.
As for the androids...I don't know. SSj is a big power-up, I'm not sure Trunks could take 'em. They were pretty much equal to SSj Gohan before he died. He might be able to kill one, but 2 on 1...I don't know. For example, Goku after 3 years of training for the androids didn't even budge Gero when he hit him. When they're in base, they aren't really that strong.
