Tanooki's Vegeta TV Special. *Updated with English dub*

Post by Tanooki Kuribo » Fri Nov 03, 2006 8:18 pm

Ok, I had a crazy idea. If you took all the flashbacks of King Vegeta and pre-Earth Vegeta would you have enough footage to make some kind of movie? Episode? TV Special? Well, the answer is ... yea kinda.

For the past 3 days I been looking for just about every flashback I could find. (I even asked some people here, you know who you are) I had found about 25 minutes of footage, which is about the length of an episode. With this footage I went ahead and created "The Vegeta TV Special" which can be seen here in parts one and two...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUQQJHQk0T4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPpHZ-TIFKA

I hope you enjoy it. I tried to edit it took look like a TV special. :D

Some production notes: I actually had to cut a scene in this youtube version your seeing, its right after Frezza blows up Planet Vegeta. I had to do this to keep it under 100MB. Yea the thing was huge. Your not missing anything it just establishes how ruthless Vegeta, Raditz and Nappa are to innocent people.

Another things was the name why name it the Vegeta TV Special? Well, cause it can mean so many things like Planet Vegeta, King Vegeta or just the Vegeta we know. Also, at the end there is a song (I wont say which one) and some cool ass flashback of King Vegeta turning into a giant Saiyan Ape is playing, this is actually where I was going to put credits. I did everything myself though, so it would look really tacky and lame if I put my name for everything. Then I thought maybe I should just credit Toei, Akira Toiryama and the voice actors from this movie. But then I'd have to put it in Japanese so it would actually go with the movie...so I decided not to put anything. But I kept the scene in just cause its so friggin hot.

I suppose thats pretty much it, hope you enjoy.

*Note: If the name on youtube comes up as V and V2, its only temporary.

Wow, watching it now. This is pretty awesome.

-edit-
Just finished: sweet sweet sweetness. Even my dubbie roommate liked it (well, until the end-song, go figure )

That was really good, I like it. I'm not sure because it showed all the clips together, but it went really well and could pass as an episode.

I enjoyed viewing that, thank you!

Very well done! Seeing it all at once made it great! What a great idea for you to think of doing this!

Master of Ceremonies (King Kai): "And the award for most flashbacks goes to... Vegeta!"
Audience: *Wild applause, yays, whoohoos, whistles, thrown undergarments, etc...*
Vegeta: "You love me! You really love me!"

___________

Anyhoo, it looks good, Tanook. Very well and professionally done, and a great idea to boot. I assume that there's no subtitles because the dialogue wouldn't make much sense if we knew what it meant.

Actually no, It goes really well if you know what there saying. Like when Frezza kills King Vegeta and then goes out to blow up planet Vegeta, Vegeta actually tells Nappa later on outside Frezzas palace that he knew all along he did that.

Also in the begining King Vegeta is telling his son how he could grow up to be a Super Saiyan and be this awesome strong guy. At the end of the movie though Vegeta is talking about how Goku is doing all the things HE should have done (becoming a SS, defeating Frezza) and how disapointed he is with himself. But hes not like super mad its like he's accepting it. So you could actually feel for Vegeta. His dad had high hopes for him and it shows in the begining then, Goku shows up and Vegeta looks like a pissant and so you kinda know why he feels the way he does. Everything SHOULD make sence.

Edit: You can actually see that last scene dubbed by Brian Drummond here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKt1zgC1bqU You can see what was edit out to.

Edit 2: If I didn't care about it making sence I would have included the clip from movie 8 where King Vegeta attempts to kill Paragus.

But to answer your question of why didnt I put subtitles? My DVD ripper woulndt let me.

I give this a ten for totally fricking awesome badass award. If anyone doesn't object may I also introduce this funny clip I found for posterity
Yeah this is pretty funny coming from Kuririn and is probably even funnier to hear current events coming out of a DBZ character's mouth. The sad thing is that what Kuririn says is too true of all minorities. Tis a shame. :(

Whoa... excellent job, sir.

You really should put up an HQ avi/mpeg version available for download as well.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I liked it. T'was quite nicely put together. Only thing I kinda felt weird with was the ending theme. Seemed..kinda outta place. Mind Power...Ki would have probably fit that final scene quite well.

Yea, I thought the same thing but I was kinda limited to whatever DB soundtracks I had also. I had to chose from the movie ending themes, the TV show openings\closings, the Budokai 1 & 2 soundtrack, The Final Bout soundtrack, and the two character special CD's. It sounds like a lot but, none of those really would fit. And its only like a 10 second clip, no other song seemed to fit that good in that short amount of time to. But yea, I know what you mean. :?

I liked it a lot! It was pretty cool how all of those scenes fit together almost perfectly. Also, are you going to put up a direct download with the other scene in there? That would be awesome.
