Homemade Dragonball clothing!

Post by tainted saiyan » Wed Jan 03, 2007 3:31 am

My sister is a huge DBZ fan and just recently finished her Grade 12 sewing class. So now she plans on sewing a replica of Gohan's 4-star ball hat and a replica of Vegeta's BAD MAN shirt. I will try to get some pics up soon once I get my digital camera fixed. I am also trying to sew an orange tanktop with the Kame symbol on it for my final project in home ec(I am in grade 9).

A friend and I made really cool shirts! They are navy blue and have Tao Pai Pai's face in the front and "KILL YOU!" in pink letters on the back. Really awesome shirt to wear around, but you get some odd stares, hahaha!! Someone has yet to get the reference.

Cool, I can imagine people being alittle freaked out by that shirt! I'm wondering how to make the 4-star ball on the hat. Does anyone know if a plastic dragonball has ever been released?

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to make a shirt and failed once I hit the "iron it on stage" as I need a wooden board to iron the images on.
On hiatus.

There are in Japan. PowerAnime has them, but it's for the whole set at a whopping $79.99. So if you search around Ebay or someplace, you might be able to find a single one. Or maybe you could just find a clear yellow ball and paint a star on it.

Thanks for the advice, but I think I'll just paint the stars on(I won't pay $80 for a set) My little Brother has a clear yellow ball that I'm going to steal . Just kidding.

I take my designs down to my friend's store. They do it there! Shirt + service ends up costing around $20. It's a good deal. When we have a good design we make a bunch for our friends a get a discount.

Oooh I took a grade 12 sewing class!! I love the dragonball clothing, I wish I could get away with wearing it all the time. I wear my DBZ boots around the house. The only thing homemade that I actually wear out day to day is a shirt I ironed on the Capsule Corp name onto.

I am in the process of making a 'postboy' shirt. I will wear it everwhere.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to dye it the proper colours (blue with white front, red beak) and get a "GOKUU" across the front as we speak :D

I've got two and they're both Janome brand. I've found it's not so much the machine than the fabric you choose which makes the clothes best. The orange gi isn't complicated at all if you use stretch knit cotton (the fabric type of a comfy t-shirt), make the pants REALLY wide and just put some elastic in the waistband and ankles. It falls perfectly!
