As shared on Bluesky just now (you are following us, right?!)-
What's the biggest, most pervasive, just-won't-die Dragon Ball rumor that isn't already covered in our (fairly extensive!) Rumor Guide over on the main website?
As a regular reader/visitor of Kanzenshuu, you know that we generally don't get into strength debates for this section; there's almost never an actual answer (and my working theory is that the people arguing that stuff don't actually want a definitive answer).
There's classic stuff like "Dragon Ball Z 2" or "AF"... there's great research deep-dive finds like the "Kaio-Ken x100" source... there are hoaxes like the video game unlocks... there are comprehensive translation/language breakdowns like the Goku-never-kissed example... and there are larger breakdowns that stem from common citations like the "LOOK ALIEN" screenshot.
Along those lines, what glaring holes are there in the section right now?

That Dragon Ball has a canon and we, mere fans, can dictate what is canonical. That rumor just won't die already.VegettoEX wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2026 9:59 amWhat's the biggest, most pervasive, just-won't-die Dragon Ball rumor that isn't already covered in our (fairly extensive!) "Jokes" aside, people used to assume Bardock surpassed or is equal to King Vegeta, even though the latter's power level was never stated in or out-of-universe. Although I doubt it warrants a section, seeing as there's not much to say about it, other than maybe mentioning that the English dub is the cause of that rumor.
The term "Mystic Gohan" being a thing... if you count English material as official content. If I'm not mistaken, it appears in a Game Boy game (similar situation to the "Frost Demon" one. Also on that note: "Ascended Super Saiyan" and "Ultra Super Saiyan"). But eh, it seems not much to say about it either.

What about "Toriyama hand picked Toyotaro"? Time to set the record straight for how Toyotaro got to work in the Super manga.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

So I often see people say Kami taught Goku not to kill. Which explains why he didn't kill anyone in the 23rd Budokai arc - Freeza arc, but did it again when Freeza turned him into a warrior of rage. However, there is a lot holes to that theory.VegettoEX wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2026 9:59 am As a regular reader/visitor of Kanzenshuu, you know that we generally don't get into strength debates for this section; there's almost never an actual answer (and my working theory is that the people arguing that stuff don't actually want a definitive answer).
I have made a thread on it in the past.
Here's another thread on it, so it definitely isn't me who noticed this trend.
If you wanted to add something strength related to the guide, there's the "Toei added dialogue about Kid Buu being the strongest Buu" - for a long time it was believed the Funimation dub added that line but it's in the original anime too. Of course, a lot of people don't really like that line existing since it goes against a lot of story beats of the manga, but the line definitely exists. Here is a discussion on it.

Re: Potential for additional Rumor Guide entries?
I don't think I can recall anything that could be added that was already been said by the users above, so I would like to say that I really want to see the entry concerning the authorship in the DBS manga, which was said in the manga guide is still in the works.
What I would like to add up to it though is that I think the whole entry could maybe about the "Who created, who co-created, how involved was" confusion in regards to the production of the Modern Anime / Manga / Movies material in the franchise.
Many people seem to be unaware of what Toei, Toriyama, Toyotaro worked on with precision and the collective work that many of the Super related projects had.
The site already gives good info on that, such as the bad translation from Viz saying that Toriyama wrote the story, and also the many interviews done by Toyotaro and Toei's staff, explaining what they did, what Toriyama did, what Toriyama approved, etc.
Though there are interviews not present in the site and they are very important, such as Toyotaro interview for Japan Expo on September 2025, which was the key for everyone to be aware that he created the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc, but the full interview is no longer available
But fortunately a clip covering the important part was saved.
I also think would be interesting to point out how the recent projects credit Toriyama, but specifically for the original series, but at the same time they don't tell that he wasn't involved in the new project, as they don't credit who exactly worked on it, Dragon Ball Super The Galactic Patrol being a good example, where they don't credit Toyotaro, nor anyone, only Toriyama for the creation of the original series, and many people seemed to be confused about it, thinking that they were crediting Toriyama for the creation of this new material.

I was reminded of this one, I think the confusion over which transformation Gohan uses against Dabura has great potential for an entry!
