The finished version of the R29 DBZ Movie 3 fandub trailer!

Post by Conan the SSJ » Wed May 02, 2007 7:49 pm

Yep, after all these months, the final version of the trailer for the Room 29 movie 3 fandub project is ready. Sorry I'm so late with it, but here it is for all your eyes to see. I'll see about uploading to YouTube later tonight. If anyone else wishes to do so with their YT account, feel free, just make sure to give the proper credit to yours' truly. Right-click and hit save-target-as, and there ya' go. Definitely share your thoughts on it and hopefully enjoy the new combination of instrumentals (yep, no Requiem here!) Eclipse and I came up with. There's your first peek into Kaboom's vision for a truly awesome dub of the encounter with Tullece, enjoy!

*Disclaimer: You guys may notice, I don't actually use Dragonbox footage for this trailer, as it was easier to use an alternative source. Please forgive that and bear with it. Also, minor aspects may differ from ideas you saw in the demos I posted, so keep that in mind as well (for instance, I cut out an entire line of Goku's because the delivery of said line just wasn't proper IMHO).

I'm not sure how else to say that line. I'm happy with my line delivery for the most part.

Whoever voices Turllece is very good. I need to find out what he uses to record his lines cause they sounded the most professional.

Spiffy. Though - simply for the sake of not getting lumped in with 90s fandom - I wouldn't have used Linkin Park :P

Aside from the mic-quality issues, hearing little emotion from Telluce was a bit disheartening - but the impecible Gohan, Goku and Piccolo voices helped make up for it :D

Who's doing Gohan? They sound incredible.

Not bad, the voices are decent. I love the announcer - he sounds great.

The cartoon-network footage is a bit of a letdown though, and your editing skills could use some work.

But overall I am impressed, I look foward to the finished product.
There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

Kino's Gohan. I still haven't heard it myself, once I have access to a decent computer I'll watch but I'm sure Conan did a good job. I'm curious to hear what I sound like myself.. :?:

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

It feels like a retro CN promo, and it would even without the CN logo - I like it. Very good job.
what about the varying quality in audio clips for the characters lines? Will that be fixed for the actual dub?
Am I the only one that liked how little emotion Tullece had? It seems to fit him.
And, props on the "battle for earth" logo to whomever did it.

Very excellent stuff. I especially love the voice.
I guess the letdown is that I was kinda expecting something different after all that time. But it's ok.

Guess I'll work on that teaser shit now. PM me the stuff I asked, k Conan?

Mainly, I was hoping for that delivery to sound like Goku was under great strain, as if Tullece was crushing his head -- your delivery just sounded a bit too over-cocky. Your voice and emotions you put into the character are pretty good, it's just your delivery of certain stuff like the line I cut, didn't seem quite up to using. Nothing personal in the least.

At least I managed to only use an instrumental of theirs. ;)

Well, Conan, mah man... Bravo. I didn't notice the clip of the random screaming dude running from his car; otherwise I would've recorded for him...

You used both our splash title logos, it looks like...

The music, actually, could've been a little bit louder than that... -_-;;

Also, for future reference, we should spell out "Room 29" on things, instead of abbreviating it to "R29."

But overall, kudos, Conan, kudos. I expected nothing less than awesomeness, and you delivered.

In other news, if folks can hop on back over to the project's main threads; in a few minutes, I'll have some general comments, critiques, and news for our VAs, as well as some other announcements and junk.

Yeah, it could've, but then I'd risk a couple of the VA recordings that were REALLY silent when submitted (future_trunks' Rekasei, Kirbopher's Tien just to name a couple) sounding awfully blaring to the point where tweaking them up loud enough would risk that happening. I decided to try and keep the music track low enough so everyone could be heard well enough, while still keeping it up enough that you can make the instrumentals out and get a decent effect from them with the voice work and sound effects. Overall, I hope some of you guys weren't too disappointed, I really did do the best I could with what I had to work with. And Kaboom, much thanks to you and Kino for those splash/animated logos, they give the trailer a very good unique look. :D

No, I didn't take it personal. Sorry if it came off that way. I just really had no idea how that line should have been said, since I have never seen this movie with this script, I really have no reference.

And again, I thought Turllece's audio quality was the best, and i would like to bring that standard to my Goku, so if possible can someone find out what he used to record his lines?

Oooh nice work I don't have any major crits. A lot of the problems with audio quality can be fixed with some filtering. I'll hook you up with some tutorials if you need hlep with that.

Please put up a link over on the project's main thread if you do, if you'd please. A bunch of us could probably use some tips... -_-;
