Inconsistencies with Reviving Humans

Post by Leyio » Sun May 20, 2007 1:20 pm

So Shenlong has this rule about not being able to revive people twice.

If so, how can he revive the people a lot of times, even if they have died more than twice?

Um, what? Shenlong never resurects anyone twice, thogh he has the ability to resurect many people at once.

Those people don't come back.

Isn't the rule that you can't use a wish more than twice? Hence the fact that Goku, as an example, can only be revived once.

Yes, Shenlong can only make different wishes each time, and yes, he can only bring back 1 person once.

Shenlong can bring multiple beings back to life, but that certain wish has a limitation that wishing a single person back seemingly doesn't, the amount of dead people all would've had to die in at least a year's time. The only time he actually revives someone a second time is when Kuririn is brought back to life at the end of GT, and even then, it was due to it being one wish rather than two, along with the fact it was the last wish of them all. I'd say wishes on the Dragonballs have stayed fairly consistent in terms of each dragon's rules. I think I still have my list of Dragonball wishes if anyone wants to see it. >.>;;

The rule is that Shenlong can't revive a person more than once, and he never revives anyone twice.

The Namekkian dragon Pouranga (that's probably spelled wrong) can bring back anyone as many times as he's asked.

In the Viz DBZ Vol. 1, Goku does say that Shenlong can't grant the same wish more than once. I'm not sure if this is bad translation or if it's another thing Toriyama forgot about.

But still, if Shenlong can't revive people twice, how is he able to revive the people killed by Cell/Buu/A bad guy many times?

Um, if Shenlong had already revived a certain person before, then that person isn't wished back ever again. I'm not sure hat you're referring to - is there any one that was revived twice by Shenlong that I'm not aware of?

Ok, let me explain it in a different way

Let's say City A's People was killed by Cell and was wished back to life by the Dragonballs. Now let's say City B's People die, and City A's People die again when Majin Buu attacked

When they wish to revive everyone again, City B's People will revive, but what about City A's People, will they revive too?

That's what i'm asking

It would just be like Goku when they wished everybody back after Cell's death. City A's population would technically to exist.

Yeah, it's pretty simple. Let's go and use the series itself as refrence. After Piccolo Daimou's rampage and rule they wished back everyone killed by him and his goons. Later, Cell comes along and they wish back everyone he killed. If someone was unlucky enough to be killed by both of them then they didn't come back this time.

The only exception would have been with the Buu Saga since they used Namek's DBs to revive everyone. Even if they had died during the Cell Saga they still would have come back. 8)

So basically it sucks to be in Dragonworld. You get killed by Piccolo Daimaoh, only to somehow be magically brought back to life.... oly to die again a good 15 or so years later by Cell, but for good this time. Geez.

Well, it's worth noting, Nappa's East City/news crew/Navy/random cities' resident victims, Dr. Gero's South City victims, and the poor truck driver Vegeta kills while fighting #18 all never get revived. Nor does the episode 1 farmer.

In my opinion, better than being killed... and, I don't know, staying dead.
