Theories in Transformation guide?

Post by kaioken12 » Thu Nov 08, 2007 4:05 pm

Hi,

I took a look at the transformation guide - interesting things there ^^
But I have a question to this:
There is for SSJ2:
THEORIES — FUSED CHARACTERS => Gogeta & Vegetto (as the single characters were strong enough to transform to SSJ2) could have been able to reach SSJ2 level.

But then again, wouldn't you have to assume that they could have reached SSJ3 in theory as well?
I mean, Gogeta is no different from Gotenks and Trunks and Goten were only SSJ1. They yet reached SSJ3 when fused - so wouldn't Gogeta be able IN THEORY as well?

I am not so sure about Vegetto though, as this fusion is different from the dance - but then again, it was a very strong fusion (stronger than expected) - so that would seem as if he could have done it as well IN THEORY of course.

Ok, you could say, neither ever had to do this (so why would they), but if you state that they could transform to SSJ2 probably - which they never had to do as well - then I think, you could write the same for SSJ3 - or not?
I mean, is there anything, that goes against a SSJ3 theory, if you have a SSJ2 one?

Please tell me, I am curious - and correct me, if I am wrong ^^
I just saw this and wanted to discuss it with you "human DB/Z encyclopedias" over here ;)

Gotenks' ability to go SSj2 and then 3 is different. The theory there is that Trunks and Goten achieved SSj2 and 3 as Gotenks. Vegetto and Gogeta on the other hand are never forms that were trained specifically.

The idea that Vegetto or Gogeta would have the ability to go SSj2 stems from the fact that both Goku and Vegeta could go SSj2. It seems fair to assume that since both Goku and Vegeta have the same ability, their fused forms should also have it. SSj3, though, is something only Goku has, so it's unclear whether Vegetto or Gogeta would gain that ability.

Ah, thanks for the enlightment about this difference :)

Without noticing it, I already had it in mind though.
My thought is:
Goten and Trunks just saw SSJ3 once and then - when they had the power to do it (as Gotenks) - they could train and use it.

Goku already had SSJ3 - so he knew how to do it.
The fused Vegetto was able to use techniques from Goku and Vegeta, as their minds "fused" as well. So why shouldn't he have had the knowledge about SSJ3 as well?
That he had the potential strength to sustain SSJ3 seems to be clear to me (or is that wrong?).

And then, Vegeta states that he saw Goku's SSJ3 from the other world - so just like Trunks and Goten he has seen how to do it (and perhaps just lacks the potential to do so by himself).

But shouldn't Vegetto/Gogeta have the potential ability to do so?

=======

But well, anyways.
This seems to be just something that could be discussed forever since Goku and Vegeta's fusions were so strong, that they never had to go past SSJ1 to beat an enemy.
So it is speculation anyway and would be more a question, which belonged to "Dragon Ball questions" ^^

So, thanks for stating the difference between Gogeta/Vegetto - Gotenks concerning SSJ3 anyway :)

Super Saiyan 3 Vegetto would have destroyed Buu with one of those lightning bolts that forms in the aura. Since Vegetto was trying to rescue Piccolo and the idiots, that would be counter-productive.

Well, the planet was shaking when Goku transformed to SSJ3 and Gotenks SSJ3 destroyed Kami's palace ^^

So, IF Vegetto could go SSJ3 and would do it - would the planet itself even "survive" this transformation?

IIRC, the only way Goku was able to attain SSJ3 was by the afterlife training, where he had no real restraints. And Gotenks was a fusion, which made it easier for him to go SSJ3 I suppose. So yeah, I suppose he [Vegetto] could've gone SSJ3. Just didn't go for it, apparently.

They probably could have (Gogeta and Vegetto), but had no need. Even if Gogeta needed training (which I doubt, since theoretically Gogeta has Goku's knowledge, skill, and power in addition to Vegeta's- so the change should be easier than it was for Goku), it was certainly attainable in the same manner as Gotenks attained it. And potara fusion is superior to the fusion dance, so I don't see why Vegetto would suffer a handicap in this department.

However, both of them were so far beyond their opponents (Gogeta-Janenba and Vegetto-Buu) at SSJ1 that going even lvl 2 would have been ridiculous overkill. 3 wasn't even remotely needed in either case. Especially in Vegetto's. As Rocketman pointed out, he was trying to get himself absorbed, not destroy Buu outright.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.
