RIP.
A phenomenal voice actor who performances as Majin Boo really brought the character to life.
My condolences to his family.

Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
I'm still not sold at all on a third helping of Battle Of Gods and Resurrection F. The Battle Of Gods movie was already a perfectly fine story as is, that practically anyone can watch, and unless the Resurrection F arc goes through some significant narrative restructuring, I have no interest in ...

Re: Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri 2026 on january 25th will have Dragon Ball announcements
With them basically hitting the reset button on Super, and seemingly no updates regarding the future of the Super manga, it does feel this rebranding is being done to reposition the anime material as the main headliner for Dragon Ball content, with the manga being placed on the back burner until ...

According to Ajay, the Resurrection F arc will be getting the same remaster treatment and both arcs will last 6 episodes

Don’t expect any animated material soon. According the Ajay, the projected internal timeframe for the Galactic Patrol/Moro arc is late 2027.

Re: Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri 2026 on january 25th will have Dragon Ball announcements
I hope the Galactic Prisoner arc gets some narrative restructuring when it gets adapted. And I hope it’s a film and not an TV anime because I feel with the material Toyotaro provided for that arc, a movie would better suit the pacing than 24 or even a 12 episode anime.

Remember folks... keep your expectations low. I mean... really low. So if you're disappointed, it's what you expected, but if it's something genuinely good, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

More animated TV shows, more movies, more video games and more supplementary tie-in promotional manga from Toyotaro.
It'll be business as usual.

Re: Rank the various arcs of the franchise
I go back and forth a bit on where I would rank all the arcs of Dragon Ball, but I think this is my defensive list:
1.Saiyan
2. 23rd Budokai Tenkaichi
3. Red Ribbon Army/Uranai Baba
4. 22nd Budokai Tenkaichi
5. 21st Budokai Tenkaichi
6. Freeza
7. Majin Boo
8. Emperor Pilaf/Hunt For The Dragon Balls ...

Re: Which was the better sequel: GT, Super, or Daima ?
I had a lengthy and detailed post written, but it got lost when I wanted to submit it and I can't be bothered to write it all out again so I'll keep it brief:
GT provides the most definitive ending and brings about the most closure of any of Dragon Ball products post Toriyama's original run with ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 20 - Official Discussion Thread
First half of the episode bored me to tears. I mean, it was pretty to look at but there was no stakes or interpersonal drama to make the battle between Goku and Gomah intriguing in the slightest.
Count me in the camp that found the second half of the episode far more interesting. Majin Koo ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 19 - Official Discussion Thread
Goku just spamming 4 without Neva makes things even worse continuity wise.
Battle of Gods still works if you watch it before Daima, so the continuity only becomes a problem for Resurrection F and Super. As someone who likes neither, it doesn't bother me that they don't line up. In fact; I'd be ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 19 - Official Discussion Thread
This episode was the vindication I needed to solidify my opinion that turning the cast into children was the most pointless and reductive narrative decision has made in many years. Making the cast children didn't service them as characters or the narrative in any interesting manner. You could have ...

Re: Producer confirms Daima was made for GT fans
*sigh*
If the most recent news and content concerning Dragon Ball has made anything clear to me it’s that someone needs to put down this old dog of a franchise because it can’t help itself from continuously pissing itself and shittng the bed.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 18 - Official Discussion Thread
What…
What…did I just watch?
This episode was the most visually stimulating nonsense I’ve seen since Episode 66 of Super. I have a feeling this episode is what Daima is will be remembered for and I don’t think that’s a good thing. It was just totally bonkers in all the best and worst ways.

With 3 episodes left, I'm not confident of them sticking the landing of this show. But I'm certain we're getting Kid Vegetto in the climax.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 17 - Official Discussion Thread
A pretty dull first half of the episode that was saved with some sprinkling of characterisation for Arinsu.
The second half of the episode is really what Daima should have consistently been from the get-go: great animation, good narrative progression, humour that doesn't feel jarringly out of ...

And it's a goddamn shame because I really wanted to like Daima but nothing about it has managed to stand out. It certainly swung for fences when it came to expanding the cosmology of Dragon Ball, but that means nothing if it doesn't do anything to enrich the characterisation or the ...
