Re: Manga vs Anime Namekian colors

I understand, but I don't think there was ever a need of change to begin with. If they wanted to indicate maturity, I'd prefer if they'd darkened the yellow or make it closer to orange for the older Namekians.

Well, to be fair that's exactly what they did if you compare for example Moori to ...

Re: Manga vs Anime Namekian colors

Manga colors. Never liked how they changed Piccolo for the anime. Took them long enough to finally adopt the manga colors.

Well, to be fair they didn't go all the way. Namekians still have five fingers and Bulma still has blue hair rather than purple like in the manga. Also like I said, elderly ...

Manga vs Anime Namekian colors

Which ones do you prefer?

I personally prefer the anime colors for namekians. Why? Simply because they provide more visual differentiation than in the manga.

In the manga, the spots on Namekian bodies are always light tan, regardless of age - be it children or even the Guru himself. In the anime ...

Re: Was Grade 3 Trunks stronger than Cell?

You're falling into a trap many DB fans fall into - forgetting that transformations are not the only occurences that modify characters' power levels. Freeza for example jumped from 530k to "over one million" when he transformed into his second form, but after that he powered up another time against ...

Re: When did Piccolo become a “Warrior Type” Namekian

I would bet that Toriyama didn't even consider a clear division between Warrior-types and Dragon-types at all until when he introduced Nail as Planet Namek's only Warrior-type, at the latest. He probably decided to establish Piccolo as one too around the same time, and before that it was probably ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 18 - Official Discussion Thread

They really just took SS3, Potential Unleashed and Great Ape and mashed it into one thing, but that's fine because it makes sense. Super Saiyan forms, Great Ape form, the tail, and the users inner potential unleashed while using the form. Super Saiyan 4 is a natural amalgamation of everything a ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 18 - Official Discussion Thread

It being striking absolutely makes it not mundade, what are you talking about?

Definition of striking : attracting attention by reason of being unusual, extreme, or prominent.

There's literally nothing basic about the form, that's also reinforced by the fact that your attempt to make it seem ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 18 - Official Discussion Thread

Super Saiyan 4 as whole is the furthest thing from mundane, kinda silly imo to call it mundane just because it has black hair when it's literally the most extravagant (and in a god way) transformation

Just because it looks striking, doesn't mean it's not mundane. It literally looks like a ...

Re: Super Saiya Densetsu remake project

Hey man! Just wanted to drop by and say that Super Saiya Densetsu is still my favorite Dragon Ball Game (with Legacy of Goku 2 being second), so I wish you all the best on this endeavor.

This game was the most immersive experience for me - especially since how desperate the boss fights can be if ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 18 - Official Discussion Thread

Huh, did you forgot that Ultimate Gohan is above SSJ3 and also has black hair?

Yeah, but Gohan's form was never sold to us or portrayed as the intended level above SSj3, it was just Gohan having his power unleashed. Meanwhile SSj4 in GT was painted as a direct successor transformation of the ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 18 - Official Discussion Thread

See, the whole idea of the Golden Oozaru was kind of the biggest piece of evidence that the SSj4 concept was mistimed. They had to create this whole "higher" ape form in order to justify the whole ape direction, since the SSj forms were placed as significantly better than the Oozaru transformation ...

Still hate the form, but if they wanted to go full on nostalgia why not make it like this?

I would still not like it because the lack of bulding, but visually it would be better.

Hot take: the black hair never made ...

Welp, GT is way too continuity-breaking unfortunately. It makes direct references to lore-breaking DBZ fillers, and features cameos of villains from theatrical movies.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 18 - Official Discussion Thread

Gotta say I really like how they fixed the black hair of SSj4 and made it at least the same color as the fur.

Ssj4 had the base hair color to balance out the colors. This Heroes inspired version has too much red going on.

Nakatsuru should have just gone with golden hair since day one, and ...

Gotta say I really like how they fixed the black hair of SSj4 and made it at least the same color as the fur. Black is too unremarkable a color for a level beyond SSj3, been saying that since forever. It being a magical transformation also makes more sense than having to use a special golden ape ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 12 - Official Discussion Thread

You're missing the forest for the trees here: the issue is that Vegeta's new form isn't being woven into the plot as a part of a character arc. There's nothing we can do about a producer wanting to sell new merchandise, but for the series to not at least craft a character arc around it is bad ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 12 - Official Discussion Thread

Well, having read the thread I agree it's possible, with some effort, to satisfactorily explain Vegeta having SSj3 and not using it again later - especially if they happen to make it a plot point later in Daima (doubtful, but could still happen).

What I like the most about Vegeta getting SSj3 ...

Well I'll be damned, gotta say Daima has been pretty unapologetic with the retcons.

I don't mind Vegeta going SSj3 from an in-universe perspective. There was never any reason he shouldn't be able to, Kakarot is not that much more special than him after all. I disagree with anyone who thinks ...

Re: Why exactly is everyone saying that GT has good ideas all the time?

I mean, the Dragon Balls do actually disappear into Goku's body. I don't see why Goku would pay the consequences for using the Dragon Balls. Didn't Goku only use the Dragon Balls one time to wish Bora back to life after he was murdered? I don't know why that would be so terrible to punish Goku ...
