They said they've been working on this project for years, so I highly doubt it's just the movies' stories, which will only be 6 episodes each. The official word is that all this is a new era of Super, so the chances of them continuing past RF are very high. If they cut down all the arcs in half ...

I'm not expecting any major story changes to the recut arcs. I don't see how they could do much more than pare down on the 2015 anime content. Following the manga or unused Toriyama notes would require far wider-reaching deviations.
