Vegeta and Piccolo vs. Beerus are not supposed to be the same archetype of antagonist. Vegeta and Piccolo were evil mortal villains. Beerus is a neutral force of nature/god.
Beerus switched pretty quickly from being neutral to siding with the heroes when possible; I think that shift should have ...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
When it comes to Daima , I suppose the idea was that it would essentially be Toriyama’s personal spin on the initial premise of GT, while also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the franchise, but considering that the brand appears to have pivoted back to Super , it seems fair to say that Daima ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I know I'm pretty late to the party, but is it true that this DBS remaster are only going to cover the Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' arcs? If that's the case, are they just going to jump straight into the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc afterward?
I have to admit, that'd be pretty ...

Re: Dragon Ball should be understood as multiple valid continuities rather than a single "canon"
I think Dragon Ball can be divided into 6 continuities:
1- The original manga written and drawn by Akira Toriyama.
2- The original anime run, which includes DB, Z, & GT, the 17 original movies, the 3 TV specials, and the Hatchyach OVA.
3- The modern movies, which include the 2008 Tarbel special ...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
It might not be an exact match for an unpopular opinion, but I'm just gonna put this thought here: Trying to tap into the "adventure vibes of early Dragon Ball" is always a mistake. Early Dragon Ball wasn't working out, and Toriyama was pushed to pivot away from it, first to a way bigger focus on ...

Re: Can anyone tell if this release of The Magic Begins has CGI or not
That is the first version with no additional CG, correct.
The "updated" version is called "Dragon Ball: Ultimate Edition" and has different cover art, along with three language tracks - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VE43GM
Who in their right mind would pay $150 for that thing ?

Re: Leak – LEGO Dragon Ball will be a full theme in 2027
The reason so few people care about it is because these companies went out of their way to hide it from them. You can't expect people to care about something that borderline doesn't exist.Jord wrote: Mon Jun 29, 2026 3:11 amYeah because such a small amount of people cares for that era. Can't blame a company for following the money.

These companies have a gold mine in the original DB era (Pilaf-Piccolo Jr.), yet they do nothing with it.

Fun fact: As a result of being the one to rip out Fat Buu from Super Buu's system, Vegeta is technically the one who defeated Super Buu. The strongest villain in the series was defeated by someone messing with his digestive system; classic Toriyama.

Seed of Might is by far the best thing to ever happen to the classic era; everything we've gotten in terms of home releases must have some glaring flaw for some reason.

Turning into your mentor for a bit is such an odd choice when you already use their move sets and fighting styles. Didn't we just do this with FighterZ ?

Tenkaichi 2 has the better story, while Tenkaichi 3 is better at everything else (roster, stages, mechanics, etc.).

Re: How long after his passing the words "Toriyama wrote/designed/contributed" stop being belieable?
Even when Toriyama was alive and active in Dragon Ball productions, they overvalued his influence.

Tite Kubo is returning to Weekly Shonen Jump for a new Bleach arc. Considering that One Piece may be over by the end of the decade, is it unreasonable to expect Dragon Ball may be moved to their primary magazine to fill in the gap left behind by Oda ? Considering that Jump has been struggling this ...

Goku's blue outfit from the end of Z is severely underrated; I wish we could see more of it in advertising and whatnot.
