Makankosapo I often hear used as the main example of why translating the attack names into English wouldn’t work. And that’s true of one were to translate it too literally. My response? “Piercing Demon Beam”. There you go. It’s not a PERFECT translation, but it’s infinitely closer to the mark than ...

After Goku's training in 100 times gravity.
After Goku came out of the healing pod to fight Freeza.
All these are before Super Saiya-jin power-up.

I think it's time for some proof. But first a little background about me. My name's Matt Thorne, and I'm a Pure Math Major at the largest University in Atlantic Canada, and I can give you a mathematical proof as to why you can't take all of Toriyama's words so seriously and still consider the Manga ...

"Watch the anime too, it's cool, and great guys have worked on it!"?
I don't think it would be too hard to get Toriyama to say that Dragon Ball is the manga and the anime and the video games...
But of course, you took that as a statement about canon and whatnot. Naturally.
Just like you apparently ...

Re: reply
Aaah, yes, we've certainly never discussed that one before...
Yeah...
Yeah, I saw how Toriyama utterly failed to talk about "canon", but obviously that's what he meant!
You're fucking hopeless. Seriously.
So, what the hell does this mean...
DRAGONBALL, IT'S THE ANIME AND THE MANGA!

Daizenshuu's
Beyond anything else, *this* is actually what's bugging me the most.
The word is already plural. It also doesn't need to be possessive. For the love of god. Please.
Yeah, I knew you would catch on! My bad, I learn something new everyday here.:D

The point fucking remains. Dude. Brain. Use brain.
"Official" doesn't necessarily mean "canonic".
Toriyama saying a guidebook is useful doesn't necessarily mean that guidebook is canonic.

Re: reply
Yes, it does. I'm sure a well-informed fan could write a Dragon Ball guidebook/FAQ/whatever that Toriyama would deem to be "useful" as well. Would that statement make it canonic though?
Sorry, but the Daizenshuu's wasn't written by "well-informed Fans," it was written by Toriyama's staff and ...

You're right: I don't understand. There's nothing to understand, here.
