Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread
With the possible exception of the great apes, it seems like they might be making an effort to include all the missing characters from BT3, which would be more than I would’ve expected.
Yeah, it made sense to include the oozaru back when they were scraping for new characters to add (it was a ...

Re: "Dragon Ball New Project (AGE 1000)" Official Discussion Thread.
Saiyaman colors and “GS” on the chest must indicate that the mantle of Great Saiyaman is some kind of Capsule Corporation title? If it’s this far into the future maybe it’s some kind of defense force continuity to what Gohan was doing with it? Makes sense for the CC affiliation since Bulma designed ...

Re: 2025-2026 Dragon Ball Z and KFC Collaboration
It's wild to see that particular stock image of Goku used, I haven't seen it in ages. I remember back in the 90's/early 00's, before Funimation was able to commission new renders, there were about five stock images used of Goku (including that one) that were always rotated between for every promo ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super is Not Modern Anymore
But if we're categorizing these periods, it's pretty clear to me that outside of maybe Toyotaro's manga, 2025 is the end of "modern". Whatever comes next will almost certainly mark a different era entirely and feel very different from the one we were just in.
Well I can categorically say that ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super is Not Modern Anymore
Dragon Ball Kai still feels rather recent to me, and yet that was the childhood experience of Dragon Ball for a lot of fans who are now also adults.

Re: Do you think you will always enjoy Dragon Ball?
At this point I imagine it quite like the pre-BoG era, but permanent at some point. We thought Dragon Ball was done, and no particularly interesting media was happening (specifically in 2011-2013, a dark period for the Dragon Ball games in particular!)... but always having a fondness for it. I have ...

Re: Dragon Ball will continue about 50 years more
I don't find that particularly difficult to believe. Dragon Ball was doing okay in the post-GT, pre-BoG era. There's been an insane amount of new content since then; the recent films did well, Daima did well, and Sparking Zero just did gangbuster numbers. Even if it isn't always active per se, I'm ...

Re: Unfortunately Nozawa seems to have more and more trouble with Goku's voice
Age unfortunately not only leads to less energy to hit those higher pitches, but also more testosterone to thicken the vocal cords and make one's voice deeper.
I feel like this is exactly why Goku Black works so well. It’s such an unlikely and unusual situation, having a woman in her late 80’s ...

Re: Unfortunately Nozawa seems to have more and more trouble with Goku's voice
I definitely noticed it with SSJ2 Youth Gohan’s rush in SZ. She sounds like she has a cold. But, she’s nearly 88. I’d still rather have this version of her than anyone else in the roles.

Trunks (GT) has never been in a Sparking! game. They could add him as a costume though, for sure.

Re: Am I the only Gohan fan who hates Beast?
All of the very legitimate and reasonable criticisms of the form aside, I hate that we’re to the point where the idea of new forms isn’t interesting anymore. Imagine in 2008 or something, being told there would be a new transformation in Dragon Ball. The internet would go apeshit. Upon the reveal of ...

Re: Has Toriyama ever ran a joke into the ground?
A character being hungry and eating extremely fast while everyone else stares in shock. I feel like it happens so many times throughout Dragon Ball. The joke is overdone and was never particularly funny to begin with. Of all the peculiar aspects of Saiyans, it’s the speed and volume at which they ...

Re: Colleen clinkenbeards English dub reception
Clinkenbeard is clearly a very talented voice actor, so her delivery is pretty much on point. However I can’t help but feel like I’m just hearing a woman try to imitate a boy’s voice when I hear her. I know that’s literally what it is, but plenty of other women who do voices are able to “disappear ...

Re: Would you like to hear the Funimation voice cast imitate the original Japanese voices in future English dubs?
The current legacy cast members who were selected to imitate the original Ocean cast can only do so much to truly convey a more accurate portrayal. I have a feeling an inspired cast selection, coming from the perspective of producers who know these characters (unlike how it was when they were ...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Just exactly how much Mr. Satan footage do we need...? Feels like he's in most of the trailers at this point. I really don't need to see his special where he doesn't faze the opponent again. Or him pointing at the screen. We get it, he's in the game. Now let's see, I dunno, some more characters that ...

Re: Which English dub terms are legit translations and not just Funi shit
Not sure what makes something "legit." "Frieza" is not technically wrong, just looks silly. Same goes for "Vegito."
I don't care that official Japanese merchandise has officially sanctioned these silly spellings (a tragedy in its own right; there was a certain charm to random variations of ...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
SSJ3 Goku is truly the "Vegeta in Raging Blast/Xenoverse" of this game. Everything else looks awesome but then there's... that. At least Vegeta finally looks just about perfect; at least in base form.

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
Super sells so well they cancelled the anime, don't adapt nor make merchandise of the post anime-manga characters. They made a single movie 2 years back and since then didn't produce any animated content regarding Super.
Instead of adapting more of the manga or announcing a new movie, Toei goes ...

Why would y'all PAY for dlc of characters that have already been in base games?
The ONLY dlc characters that should ever have a price are either guest characters or characters and forms that premiere AFTER the game releases...
So you're expecting 250 characters at launch with no DLC? It's very ...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement & Pre-Release Discussion Thread
It used to be really stale, but honestly I find being able to just experience the story from start to finish is a welcome return to form (I guess Kakarot counts, but I never really cared for it). It looks like it could be something like Budokai 1, where you simply have story cutscenes in-between ...
