Re: Dragon Ball Z VizBig Manga Dissection/Review
If I were to collect the original VIZ tankoubon-style releases or the VIZBIG, I'd go with the VIZBIG. It's too hard to find the tankoubon-style releases without a lot of edits for sale at a reasonable price. With the VIZBIG, every release is the same. Both versions have some problems (having the ...

Re: Your "Perfect" Dragon Ball Manga Release
Aside from all the obvious stuff that people have already touched on (uncensored, all the original colored pages in full color, etc), the one thing I really want to see is a "complete collection" book. As in, one giant bible sized book that contains all of the manga in one binding.
That book ...

Re: Z Vizbig 3 going the way of Dragonbox 2?
The Dragon Ball Z VIZBIG Volume 3 has been keeping in stock at my local bookstore. I notice it all the time because whomever stocks the manga makes sure that there's one volume of every 14 of 'em lined up (they do the same with the tankoubon-style Viz releases, lining up all 42 volumes to display ...

Re: Episode of Bardock: Giant On-Going Manga + Anime Discuss
This anime adaptation is almost spot-on with the manga by Naho Ooishi. After watching it, I also pretty much have the same thought: it was alright. There's nothing overly spectacular about it, but it's always nice to have new entries to keep the franchise alive. For this adaptation, I like the ...

Re: Your "Perfect" Dragon Ball Manga Release
Well, that would be perfect! But I have to add one more thing to make it truly perfect(for me at least). Divide the Volumes to story arcs! I hate that the tankoubon volume 17(?) begins with the finale of Goku vs Piccolo fight and then enders to Raditz!
At least that part is "fixed" with the ...

Your "Perfect" Dragon Ball Manga Release
I've been doing a little reading about the various releases of the Dragon Ball manga in Japanese and English, and I've been learning quite a bit about what comprises each release. Of course there's always something missing from every release, and even the kanzenban (despite its name) is not a ...

Re: Legend of the Legendary Super Saiyan of Legend
The added paragraph I think makes a big difference with the whole argument. While reading all three parts I had something similar in the back of my head: "What makes the legend true?" It might even be important enough to mention in the first part of the essay.

Re: Naho Ooishi's 3-Chapter V-Jump Manga: Episode of Bardock
I'm very interested. The Episode of Bardock manga wasn't anything really great, but it was definitely enjoyable and brought some interesting things into play (even though it really just created more questions than anything else). I'll be interested to know what Toriyama's part in all of this is ...

Re: Legend of the Legendary Super Saiyan of Legend
Like always, you've provided a great read for the Dragon Ball community! With how convoluted the Dragon Ball world can get at times (and even more so when you mix the manga's story and information with the anime's filler, the various movies, Dragon Ball GT, VIZ's manga translation, the many English ...

Is there anything that's manga exclusive?
There's always a lot of talk about what the anime added that's not present in the manga, and rightfully so of course. However, are there any aspects of the manga that never made it into the anime? I'd be curious to know what's missing from the anime.

Re: Merchandise That Should Exist
As I'm a big fan of the Gundam franchise, I love building plastic model kits. The Master Grade line for Dragon Ball was a really cool idea, but died after only releasing Son Goku and Super Saiyan Son Goku. I'd love to see that line revisited; having some more major releases would be awesome.

Re: Toriyama and the guidebooks
That's one of the things I always found interesting. He went with his story as he wrote it, I mean he's not going to sit there and think of everything from all angles , you know? He's trying to get a point across and that's it. Manga interpretation almost takes on a life of it's own. You don't ...

Re: Dragon Ball Manga Beyond "Dragon Ball"
Thank you for your response and comment about the three Dragon Ball Z side stories (featuring Piccolo, Vegeta, and Trunks respectively). While I had come across them before, I didn't know they were anything special, nor did I know they were involved with Shueisha at all. I will be giving those a ...

Dragon Ball Manga Beyond "Dragon Ball"
I (like many others here I'd assume) watched Dragon Ball Z on Cartoon Network many years ago when it was airing on the Toonami block. I had seen most of the series up until the end of the Cell Games, and then pretty much stopped watching for one reason or the other. I loved buying the figures (both ...
