If the rewriting is true, then the EOZ must be erased or changed to fit. I mean, if Beerus is now awake and remembers the Super Saiyan God's name from his dreams, what would stop him to track down that Saiyans, just like he did it in the actual movie? I agree that since they were able to obtain SSJ so naturally, that they will not be unable to transform in the future. Now, the loss of power from not training is a completely different matter. I guess I always imagined there was some kind of work around that would take place for low-lifespan characters if they took up the title of Kami or Haikaishin in order to make them live significantly longer.

Perhaps they did once the Dragon Balls were strengthened to revive more than one person with a single wish that happened at some point between the time they left Earth and the Boo saga.

I think it doesn't link and it merely has more to do with why Gero was so opposed to releasing 16. I think only the anime makes it seem as if 16 was the one that killed Gero in the other timeline.
