I.... don't really see how any of those are real "twists". Perhaps Vegeta letting Cell absorb 18 comes closest. But yeah, Goku being an alien is an actual "twist" in the plot and it didn't make the list.

Yeah, when you think about it, almost every rivalry that ever occurred on an obvious level was between Goku and somebody else.

I can't recall Gohan ever having a rival. That's sad.
