I think Goku was more focused on during the original Dragonball half.
Honestly while he did get a lot of focus in Dragonball Z with all kinds of power ups, transformation, new techniques and whatnot, he didn't have much to show for it. He died against Raditz, didn't kill Nappa, almost died again ...

Re: Does it irritate you when people say DB was poorly writt
Dragon Ball is a shonen series, you are not going to find something like Watchmen or anything from George Orwell when reading Dragon Ball. I'm pretty sure Toriyama's goal with Dragon Ball was to make a fun series for people to enjoy, not make some deep arthouse series.

Re: How would you have written Goku killing Freeza?
To be perfectly honest, I would've prefered Freeza to die on Namek and not come to earth.
But if Goku should've been the one fighting Freeza and King Cold on earth, I think he should squash them as quickly as possible.

Re: Dragon Ball fanbase get screwed over the most?
The real reason why being a Dragon Ball fan is awesome is because you're always relevant. Even with the various Star Wars debacles, Star Wars and its fans are always relevant . That alone is worth it's weight in gold and is often taken for granted. A few other shows have been mentioned and I'm no ...

Re: Is there anyone...
As a RPG fan I would like more games like Dragon Ball Z - Attack of the Saiyans. That game did a good job capturing the DB world and the characters, their attacks, etc.

Yes, that's true. Goku really became a jerk in the Cell arc.Michsi wrote:There is one thing I have always felt should have happened and that is Goku apologizing to Gohan for the Cell fiasco. "Dying" is a harsh word, but I think the DB franchise is way past its prime.

I agree.Scarz wrote:I would've added Lunch in the Z mangas (not just the anime). I wouldn't even care if she didn't hook up with Tenshinhan. As long as she was there in the background I would've been super happy.

Re: Should the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai Arc have been part of
While I agree with Pokewhiz that I see no need for them to have changed the title at all, I see where they did change it as the perfect place. The story comes to such a solid conclusion at the end of the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai that Kame'sennin has to break the 4th wall and assure us it's not over ...

I don't know. But Saiyans seem to be able to gain power much faster than anybody else we see in the DB universe.

Re: Romantic Interests In Dragonball
If Toriyama would've wanted the Goku/Bulma relationship happening, it would've worked out just fine. Goku/Chi-chi worked out fine, despite Goku being an asexual manchild and Bulma/Vegeta worked out fine, despite Bulma seemingly not really being the faithful kind and Vegeta being a ruthless mass ...

Re: To restore to life all those who died since...
I think what would happen is that, as Toriyama would have to bump Yamcha aside so Vegeta and Bulma could get it on to have another super-strong Saiyan child, Bulma would stay with Yamcha and not have a child. Goku would die from the heart disease, the Androids would be released and kill everyone ...

Re: How does Goku really feel about Chi-Chi?
Maybe "immoral" was too strong a word then. But bedding a mass-murderer is still bad.
To be honest, I never really understood the Bulma/Vegetta relationship. My personal interpretation was always, that Vegetta stays a bad guy until late in the Buu saga. The only reason he doesn't kill the other Z ...

Yes, she does that in the beginning of the manga. But she stops behaving like that after some time.funrush wrote:Okay, because giving your bra size to a total stranger and then showing off your boobs at the age of 16 totally isn't immoral.

About Bulma and Vegeta...
See the 'Yo Son Goku and his Friends Return' special. I that shows they are perfect for each other! They are so alike.
:D
They're not "perfect" for each other. They just both happen to be immoral hot-tempered jerks.
I wouldn't call Bulma immoral. Yes, she starts out ...

Re: How does Goku really feel about Chi-Chi?
i tend to read goku as aromantic (and possibly asexual, but that's harder to tell :P). in general, i don't think he values relationships (any human relationship) as much as most people do. his strongest relationships that i can think of are with kuririn and gohan, who are among the only people ...
