Sean Schemmel's Goku is awesome. And the fact he plays Gonard on Kappa Mikey is great to because I can get more into the show because it reminds me of DBZ.

Goku going Super Saiyan. I looked forward to it for weeks and weeks after having heard it happened during his fight with Freeza. Yeah, Chris Psaros is a guy with a lot of different issues, but his episode comparisons are pretty good. I've been reading the DBZ Movie comparisons, too, actually. Check out his Movie 1 Review of the dub... rips into it really bad.

No problem. I love reading the old comparisons. Wish he had done more of them, but now with the new DVDs I guess we can do it for ourselves. Still, everyone likes a guide.

I grew up watching the dubs in the late 90's like many of us did. Good ol' Toonami and Saturday morning cartoons. Anyways, I of course got hooked on them and didn't care about the censorship and such at the time. I loved it and didn't even mind the voice changes when Ocean left.

DB season sets would be great. Remastered or not, I don't care.

I always thought Kaioken was a 1.5 multiplier of their power level. Example:

Base = 100
Kaioken = 150
Kaioken x2 = 200
Kaioken x3 = 300, etc...


Anyways, the Freeza's PL being at 1% thing was just some BS invented for the dub back in the day. Thats not what he really said.

So I guess maybe adding an extra 0 or so to some of the PN.com power lists wouldn't be a bad idea after the Frieza Saga, eh?

I know it doesn't really affect the story, but I've always liked reading them and seeing what they were during a specific fight and how it relates to the outcome of the battle(s). 120,000,000 just seems to be an absurdly large jump. 300,000 was Goku's base PL, and at 20x Kaioken it was around 6,000 ...

Wow... so I guess all these years the PL list I've been reading was wrong... Just seems so crazy that their power levels would go up THAT high.

I was looking up DBZ power levels last night, trying to find a copy of the old Planetnamek.com listing that Mac did. I found a site that had them pretty much the same exact way they were from PN, but I searched more, and found some youtube videos stating Frieza's PL at 100% was around 120,000,000 ...

I saw a tin that had both the Trunks and Bardock specials for about $20 or so. Has the uncut english and original Japanese on em.

IIRC, the only way Goku was able to attain SSJ3 was by the afterlife training, where he had no real restraints. And Gotenks was a fusion, which made it easier for him to go SSJ3 I suppose. So yeah, I suppose he [Vegetto] could've gone SSJ3. Just didn't go for it, apparently.

My opinion on it:

- Loved the image quality
- Loved the audio quality
- Packaging didn't bother me at all
- Cropping didn't bother me at all
- Love watching this over my old crappy fansubs on VHS
