Forgive me if this makes me sound stupid, but what are the problems with Disney's TV-show DVDs?
Nothing, Disney releases are generally of the highest quality. I think he's just saying that even the crappiest Disney shows get quality releases, while a piece of classic Japanese animation gets shit ...

Looks like it's the widescreen "remastered" bullshit with only the Spanish track and English subs. Apparently it's gotten released in Mexico this past month, as well. This just isn't looking good...

But in all honesty, the show frames up nicely in widescreen.
I wonder if all those that says this(not singling out 707 in particular) would also say the same thing about "widescreen movies frames up nicely in pan-and-scan". After all, it's the exact same arguement. (and didn't the whole push for ...

It doesn't matter about the cropping, all they are doing is trying to make it look more modern and more appealing in widescreen,
The series is 20+ years old, how can it "look more modern"? The only way that could happen would be to make a brand new series altogether. And really, the whole "gotta ...

In the end though, you cant blame 'em for being cheap fucks. Everyone will buy Dragonball Z. And the less money they spend, the more money it will make them.
That "Everyone will buy Dragonball Z" anyway just makes the widescreen issue even worse. If we were talking about an obscure show that may ...

I had my share of thoughts on the issue. On one level, I do like seeing honorifics in translations, and in some contexts, it's important to leave them in(like if how a character is addressed is part of a scene or the story). On the other hand, it does get overdone sometime(like on fanfiction and ...

Hah, anyway - you know, since my last post above, - I've been thinking about this. With all the evidence we've looked at and what they've told us - I am now beginning to wonder if what has happened here is that Funi actually just sort of "honestly" and legitimately made a mistake during their re ...

I think I figured out the widescreen problem. Ok, so the Japanese raw footage has some more of the image then FUNimation showed. All FUNi has to do is put black lines over what they didnt show us before and poof, widescreen! It also shows more of the image this way on the right and lefts sides. So ...
