One thing I will say is Sean's Goku needed redubbing less than Sabat's Vegeta.
While Sean's acting had come a long way since 1999, the actual voice itself didn't change that much.
Sabat's Vegeta voice was completely different from how he started out, to the point of being almost unrecognisable ...

Re: Is anyone else not a fan of the SS3 Vegeta design?
It's more of a "eh" or "oh, that exists, moving on".
Just too little, too late. Him having it at this point like, just doesn't matter? Adds nothing?
The porcupine hair, ironically enough, by trying to be distinct, feels lazier too. It just gets bigger. Yay? What's even the point of changing it up ...

Re: Dragon Ball Kai comes to Disney+ UK
This is really cool to see, as Kai will get more exposure on Disney+, and it's arguably the best way to introduce newcomers to this franchise.
It would be cool to see more of the DB franchise on there, although Netflix would be an even better option.
I haven't had Disney+ for a while myself, but ...

Is anyone else not a fan of the SS3 Vegeta design?
Ever since Daima came out I've thought Vegeta's SS3 design looks goofy with the hair continuing to stand up. I much prefer the more traditional SS3 design he had in the Raging Blast games.
I know some will argue it's because Vegeta's hair always stands up regardless of form, while Goku's has ...

I did go back to check those moments and at least far as I can tell he is still Ultimate:

Re: My head canon of why Gohan didn't turn into Ultimate/Mystic in GT
I’m gonna be honest pre-modern era I didn’t think Ultimate/Mystic Gohan was ever meant to be a transformation and was just another example of the fandom’s hyper fixation with attributive adjectives. Teen Gohan. Kid Goku, Base Goku etc etc etc
Like, ignoring all the stuff in the modern material ...

Re: My head canon of why Gohan didn't turn into Ultimate/Mystic in GT
Don't the Perfect Files imply that he trained to the point were he could stack Super Saiyan on top of Ultimate?
I think I prefer that idea honestly. It's nice to think that there's a version of Gohan who actually learnt from his past mistakes, and found a way to balance training with the rest of ...

Re: History of Dragon Ball in the UK and Ireland
Looks like we haven't seen the last of Dragon Ball on UK traditional TV yet as its coming to GREAT! Action on May 5th. It will also be streaming unsurprisingly. This is another Narrative Entertainment channel, and they are apparently airing the censored version, likely because that's what was ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Daima" Crunchyroll Home Release Thread
There's no way they'd redub Nadolny's lines. Her return was a huge selling point of Daima's dub, as many fans had long wanted to hear her play Goku again. They even went as far as having her voice Daima Goku in the video games.
Unfortunately I still haven't got to hear her full performance, as ...

Also remember Medabots and Beyblade were on TV.
Didn't see Medabots, but I do remember Beyblade on Cartoon Network UK and Toonami. Loved that show as a kid too and used to collect the beyblades.
Funny story about Medabots. It used some of the same music as the Westwood DBZ dub.
I watched ...

Was Tenchi Muyo on Toonami UK?
I remember Digimon and Sailor Moon on Fox Kids. Yu-GI-Oh! I think was on Nick?
It was on Cartoon Network during the days of the Toonami block, along with the other Tenchi shows, although I remember it being pretty short lived. And yes Gundam Wing also aired around ...

Re: What if Dragon Ball was never dubbed in English?
They more or less co-existed. Dragon Ball Z came to the States first but it didn’t start airing on Toonami and do gangbusters until just before Pokemon made it’s U.S debut. The first movie was released around the time the in-house dub was finally wrapping up the Frieza saga. Pokemania started ...

Re: What if Dragon Ball was never dubbed in English?
Something else I just thought of is the popularity of GT and movie characters overseas.
Characters like Broly, Cooler, Gogeta, and the SS4s were featured heavily in the marketing for Budokai 3, because of how popular they were in the US specifically. All of these characters have been included in ...

Re: What if Dragon Ball was never dubbed in English?
Yeah, Batman never really seemed to get reruns the way Spider-Man did — that one always felt like it was on TV. I grew up with Batman Beyond and the Return of the Joker film. Funny enough, it wasn’t until Netflix that I finally watched Batman: The Animated Series last year. That kicked off a whole ...

Since you're in the UK do you remember what channel Batman TAS aired on? Google says CBBC but I could swear it was on Cartoon Netowrk. I remember Batman of the Future (Batman Beyond) and Justice League were 100% on CN.
I was quite late to the party with Batman TAS, and didn't see it in full ...

Also the violence really stood out compared to US cartoons I was watching at the times. Other shows characters wouldn't even punch each other.
I remember the "no punching" rule being a thing on Spider-Man TAS. They got around it sometimes, like having him punch someone with his fist coming ...

Add in Spider-Man: The Animated Series and Jackie Chan Adventures and I'm in a similar boat.
I was really into both of those too. :)
There were a lot of awesome shows that simply didn't have close to as many episodes as the DB franchise.
Stuff like Batman Beyond, Xmen Evolution, and ...

Most of us on this forum would've probably never gotten into it, as well as countless others who grew up loving it.
Many have had their lives enriched through their fandom, to the point were they'd be considerably worse off without it.

Re: Do you think Dragon Ball will be remembered in 60 years?
It probably will be remembered to some extent. I think it largely depends on there being a steady supply of new material.
Someone mentioned stuff like Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry. I think Scooby Doo is a great example. It's had many different iterations spanning decades.

Re: 15th Anniversary of the Kenji Yamamoto controversy.
I always loved the Budokai game soundtracks, and agree it was a massive shame to see them replaced for the HD collection. Those tracks were plagiarised, but they were awesome, and really brought the spirit of DB.
