Re: Has Super and Daima replaced Z and GT in the modern era?

Not really, everything is Z based and Super and Daima are pretty much two unrelated spin-offs/sequels (midquels, or whatever).
That's how I perceive it.

GT at least had this unfortunate advantage of being done as a direct sequel, both in it's conception and both in smoothless TV programming ...

Re: Aoni Production (Nozawa Management Agency) Collaborate on AI-Replicated Voice Service Trained on Voice Actors

I wonder, how will Masako Nozawa sound in english. While I am not a fan of artificial actors, be it James Earl Jones being synthesized for new Darth Vader appearances or full digital recreations, imagine the fun on the fan side of things, to try to do a dub version of some scenes, with Japanese ...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread

I have to say, that as a kid, I had tons of fun with Final Bout and we even trained characters with my friend to go against each other
Loving the franchise and being limited in options did the magic, altho the game is objectively terrible in comparison to it's peers, but that's simply ...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread

I REALLY agree with you about the Team BT4 mod. I actually recommended it on a separate thread a few years ago before Zero was announced, but it got little traction.

It may not be popular here, but it's quite popular in the DB gaming community, understandably so. Their next update will allow ...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread

I think the long gaps between DLC is not good for the game. Not to mention, we don't get much new content besides characters and bonus battles. Where's some new story DLC? Like, seriously.

The last DLC was just characters and !exclusive! costume, that is just a set of one ultimate move for Goku ...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread

I must say, that how dissapointed I am with the lack of stages and other content beside the new characters, I really enjoy them. Very well crafted and my god, I really love the Mini Vegeta!

Also, quite happy with how they resolved the update of Mini Goku. Even tho I got stuck for few minutes ...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread

I also remember the team attacks when you had chosen certain characters from Raging Blast, like Goku's nelson on opponent and Piccolo blasting them with Makkankosappo.
Or volleyball with Gotenks and Piccolo, or Androids doing that team attack they used on Future Gohan.
They were quite fun, when I ...

Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread

A shame that we have to rely on fans to make games better than the devs do.

I shouldn't have to explain why this is a profoundly ignorant statement.

Modders don't make games, they make mods. Developers work tirelessly to create and program all this shit from scratch. The former can change ...

Re: Do you think you will always enjoy Dragon Ball?

Not sure if it's a generational thing, but the Japanese "creative" side of sticking to traditional, not changing status quo and thinking that fans will go oomph for a SSJ4 just because it is a SSJ4 from GT and we "didn't see it coming outside of GT, wow!" gets kinda old and tiresome.
Not looking ...

Re: Do you think you will always enjoy Dragon Ball?

For sure, I will!
Altho, I am a bit fatigued from the franchise. The original manga and DB/Z adaptation are the best, altho more and more slog to watch through with how it is paced nowadays and seeing it for countless times. Reading and re-reading the original manga is still awesome.

Super kinda ...

So, I'm finally working my way towards finally getting all of the base game achievements for the game (whether I get the remaining DLC ones is another thing for future me). I only had 4 achievements left, with the 2 achievements for doing 7 online battles & 7 endless battles, the 1 for doing the ...

They will develop something like stands in Jojo's Bizzare Adventure, made from their Ki, whilst sitting under trees in cool shadow.
We saw foreshadowing to this in Beerus arc in Super, with those Ki Dragons.
The stands will duke it out instead of their frail bodies.

In-universe, I guess ...

Re: How Would You Introduce Someone to Dragon Ball ?

'Filler' really is such a loaded word. I don't even think it's particularly that big a deal if something is 'filler', either. I really enjoyed the anime-original stuff in Dragon Ball , and even long-form arms like those in BLEACH and NARUTO Shippuuden wound up being really fun. Series that produce ...

Re: Alternate sequels to other story arcs

Sparking Zero kinda went this way, where you have alternate routes and story branches with arcs happening differently.
What if Goku didn't die during the fight with Raditz? How will this arc go if Gohan didn't slack his training as he did in the OG story? etc.
It's just sadly missing the Broly fight ...

I did my small brother when he was six through Kai. He's now adult.
There was this prologue recaping the first show and quite a smooth ride with some facelifts. Altho Kai is somewhere on the bottom for me.
We then switched to Z, as Kai wasn't so far and we saw just the first 3 episodes and bro ...

Re: How would you feel if all of Funimation's DB home video releases are dub-only?

Really bad, asi I get some basics in Japanese and know the story, it might not be such a problem watching the original, but thanks to Funimation, and as weird as it sounds, we've got some great transcript from Daimao Simmons.

The dub for me is atrocious, but that is mostly thanks to watching German ...
