Oddly Cheap DVDs

Post by Ex-Dubbie369 » Wed Jun 20, 2007 7:33 pm

dvdtohddvd.com has some really good deals on some of the old R1 releases including the DB Tournament saga and the Bardock special. The odd thing is that some of the GT singles are about $20.
Does anyone know anything about this site? It's prices for some DVD's over others are really strange.

Bardock Special

Tournament Saga

Movie 4, 5, and 6 Box Set

DBGT Single

Seems like BS, but if the sites legit, I'd love to get some stuff.

Rush out and get these! Especially the Bardock Special! That one's getting rare.

I've never heard of this site... anyone familiar with them? Reviews anywhere else online?

I only found a couple sites pertaining to this one:

http://www.resellerratings.com/store/DVDtoHDDVD
3/10/07 11:10 PM
Confirmation No: 211593318B
The ABSOLUTE WORST experience I have ever had with a net-based vendor. PERIOD. No communication. No email response to my post to their "Customer Service" chat. No response to my emails. No dvd delivered for over 3 weeks. No response to my cancellation!
And a message forum post from 2006: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=480237

To test the site a bit, when it comes to the order page where it asks for contacts, there's no Security Lock on the end of my browser. I have no clue if this really means anything unless I entered some kind of credit card information or not.

Meh, I'd just go with Overstock.com. Sounds like this crap DVD site is the worst. At least Overstock doesn't make you wait 3 weeks...

Amazing prices. Too bad the service is garbage on that site (or so it seems)

I still say the Australian box set is your best bet for the Dragon Ball DVDs. As for the Bardock special, it's starting to look like eBay or an anime conference is your best bet. I can't find that thing anywhere...

Oku?s worst fear is realized as Syn Shenton ingests the black star Dragon balls creating the ultimate evil force in the universe! With Goku weary from battle earth?s mighliest hero may not have enough to stand against the power of all seven shadows Gragons! Pan hopes that those still fighting for freedom from Syn?s terrible rule will hear her panicked cries for help. Luckily Vegeta has a plan! All he needs is time to perform fusion but time is exactly what the heroes don?t have.
Damn Shenton Gragons!! :?

I ordered the Bardock Special DVD off Amazon.com (As I Own the Tape), and After about a month of Waiting, I contacted them, and they said they had no idea what happened, and sent me my money back.

I would really like to get this on DVD, as it is the last remaining DBZ Movie/Special that I don't have a DVD copy of.

Eh ? Sorry, guess I neglected to read that.... Haha, my bad. lol Meh,if this websites services is that commented earlier, then I don't think it's worth it. I'll just get the Madman box set for Dragon Ball. I don't know if I'm gonna bother collecting other FUNimation DVDs.

From what I heard, they deal primarily with overstock and used items and then sell them individually at wholesale price. In other words, buy at own risk. Quality of item and service can be anywhere between fantastic and phenomenaoly crappy.

Either way I'd stick with the known dependable suppliers, no point wasting your well earned pennies on something that may not even show up on your door step at all.
