Yes and no. But you're going in to a lot of wish-wash terminology that means different things to different people.
Your eyes are roughly 16:9. I think the 16:9 came out of history thru experimentation and economics, but the picture went wider versus higher due to that reason.

I guess I just "imagined" the Walmart Inuyasha dub only DVD set I saw. Or the Pokemon season 1 DVD set, all the Yugioh DVDs save 3 "uncut" releases that got sacked after 3 discs, or the Kirby and Sonic X DVDs. Sure it's not the norm but 4Kids Entertainment still does it, sadly enough sucessfully.
Remember, Pokemon is aimed at young children on both sides of the Pacific. Anime aimed at young children pretty much have no chance at dual language releases because the marketability might not be there.
And Dragon Ball was ALSO aimed at children on both sides of the pacific. Your point?

He's making a reference to a dream that Mike shared on the Podcast. Something about Perfect Cell in the kitchen cooking human flesh. :D

No. She's a Mommy Dama: a pure ball of Chi made up of small portions of Chi from mothers all over the Earth.

Well, since you asked so nicely...

You know what? I downloaded and watched the two comparison videos (were they in this thread or another one?), and to be completely honest, I don't prefer one over the other.

Someone needs a nap.

You want us on topic? Bring up something we haven't beaten to death with logic yet. Everything you've brought up about the season sets not being terrible has been rebuked. The thread is over, unless you've come up with something else.

Well...?

jjgp1112, I understand what you're trying to do, but it's as lost a cause as when when people who don't like the sets criticize people like you for purchasing them.

The majority of forum-goers here are against the release in one way or another. Whether they're wrong or not, whether you agree with them or not, it's simply the fact of the matter, and unless you tell these people that the releases contain a hidden 4:3 option or a way to clean up the quasi-remastering, they're not going to listen. They have their opinions and stand by them, just like you do.

People on both sides are more-or-less tired of a debate for which every point, counterpoint, opinion and criticism has already been said. Whatever changes in thought or feeling that were going to take place already have in that time, and what's left are two sets of people whose attitudes toward the widescreen releases are pretty much set in stone.

The people against this release have a very genuine grievance (cropping, picture quality), while the people who buy it have a very genuine reason (Saiyan/Namek episodes, first-time consistent series release). And that's pretty much all there is to it. People aren't going to change their minds either way, and threads like this-- well-intentioned as it may be-- won't turn that around.

Buy the releases, or don't. Your opinion, your money, your choice.

Episode #0051 — Week of 12 November 2006, if I'm not mistaken.

I didn't say that I thought either was better than the other. I said I don't prefer one over the other. I KNOW DragonBox is much better.

But when all I'm concerned about or am going to notice is whether or not I can watch the series and understand it, I'll take the Season Sets.

Hehehe. I think most people who reply to these threads don't even read what the OT posts anymore. I think that if you like the sets, good for you, you shouldn't be made fun of for it if that's all you say (which does happen here). But if you tell them that it is good, and they should like it, expect to get yelled at.

It's just like with music. People can't tell the difference between what is good and what they like.

I LIKE the Sex Pistols. Do I realize that they have very very little talent? YES. I LOVE the Season box sets, do I realize the quality could be a whole lot better, and that funi lied? YES.

When people can realize these things, the world will be a lot better.

And Desire, I honestly don't care if you or Funi think I am an idiot.
