Yeah... about that...omegacwa wrote:Well, I am remaining somewhat optimistic about this movie. As long as they don't do the current adaptation trend of changing an important male lead into a female, I will be happy.
Just kidding, they didn't do it.

Now you've peaked my interest. Which action movie did that happen in?!omegacwa wrote:Well, I am remaining somewhat optimistic about this movie. As long as they don't do the current adaptation trend of changing an important male lead into a female, I will be happy.
That would actually be entertaining to see Vegeta as a female.Chuquita wrote:Now you've peaked my interest. *Imagines Vegeta....*
Nah, they wouldn't do something like THAT. ^_^;;;
Yeah, I think high school and "Teto" are bad, but I don't think they would go that far as to gender-bend characters.

Source: Dragonballmovieblog.comLate 20s, female, her features exotic, sexy but deadly, dressed in gleaming black, with weapons strapped all over her body, she's a martial arts expert and Lord Piccolo's chief enforcer. Crafty and quick thinking, Mai uses her ability to shapeshift near the climax of the movie and takes on the form of Chi Chi, a young martial arts expert who's romantically involved with Goku and later saves Piccolo from Master Roshi's curse; once she is revealed she ends up in the fight of her life.

And now Mai is Oolong.Mai uses her ability to shapeshift near the climax of the movie and takes on the form of Chi Chi
I'm not sure if you're being ironically over-dramatic or not, but between you and me, that's pretty dang overdramatic. The series is so well established that I'm pretty much certain that this movie will do nothing but give the series some publicity, nothing more. It couldn't possibly be detrimental to it's image, it's been here for nearly 10 years now. Personally, I'd first start an outcry over the Box sets FUNi is releasing, because that's actually screwing the fans.Supa Saiya-Jin Tullece wrote:Oh my god.
I can't bear to watch such an important part of my life be torn to shreds right before my very eyes!
I JUST CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!
Someone needs to start picketing or something right fucking now. I'll watch since I don't live in Mexico.
Ehh... I could have sworn that was old news. Wasn't that information released on that Chud site last year in their article covering all the major characters?Timo wrote:Oh and about Mai:

No offense, guys, but if you were going to start complaining about this little factoid, you should have done it when it was first released...
Smart move.Chuquita wrote:I'm not gonna bother officially freaking out til' I see a trailer. >_>
This isn't a "huge film", is it? I thought it was coming out in August. That's pretty late in the season, and usually reserved for movies that they don't expect to really even do that well. War of the Worlds was a huge film by comparison, if you ask me.JAPPO wrote:since this is his first major role in a huge film.
Yeah, I know how you feel, but look at it this way. Think of it as them making a copy of the album and then pissing on that, instead of the original which you get to keep.Supa Saiya-Jin Tullece wrote:It's that I've come to love DragonBall. It's like someone's pissing on a prized photo album. Ya' know the feelin'?
((My opinion is different with the OrangeBox sets. It's the only reasonable manor for a fifteen year old as myself to gain the episodes without piracy. I have neither the funds or patientce to find old singles or DragonBoxes.))
