Can some of you guys pull your heads out of your ass and realize that some of us can't afford the Dragon Boxes, some of us don't feel like learning Japanese, and some of us don't even have multi-regional DVD players. A lot of us who buy the set just want the episodes at an affordable price and don't care about 25% meaningless footage at the top and bottom gone, or how accurate the color looks, or how many lines are present during a shaking scene. So don't get pissy about people "playing into Funi's hands" or "keeping you from getting a proper release by giving them money." You guys have to realize that you Dragon Box buying fans make up only about 25% of the US fanbase, and the other 60 or 70% aren't anal about the picture quality.
Funny how the way you say that makes you just as bad, only that you're defending the season-sets rather than bashing them. Honestly, I can't recall more than ONE member acting the way you're talking about.

DaizEX: Where 25% plus "60 or 70%" equals 100%.

-Corey
I meant that about 70% doesn't care, and another 30% does care, but isn't huge about it.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

But i know you realize that the 70 percent of willfully(i think that's spelled right) ignorant fans are stopping the rest from getting a release that is actually better for all. I know this isn't a DBox discussion thread, but their actions are allowing Funimation and companies like them to keep feeding the same garbage out. If there is a better product out there, why can't those people who know about it support it and spread the knowledge around. I am personally glad for people like Corey and the Daizex Staff for actually showing me the flaws in what I'm buying so i won't be ignorant.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

And why should I care about the 25% that actually care? We aren't willfully ignorant, we're apathetic.

Why don't you care about having the best quality releases availible, and reasonable pricing? If no other anime fanbase stands for it,why should the Dragonball fans......

Because we don't care. If we get a release that has the episodes with a good price, but has bad video quality, we won't boycott it until we get good video quality, we'll just buy it because we just want the episodes at a reasonable price, not pretty colors.

Really? I have a CD somewhere from 2000 with all of DragonBall Z in Real Media format. I'll sell it to you for $5.00. That's like...1.7 cents an episode. I better start making copies, I'm gonna make a fortune! :P

Best DragonBall Z release EVAR.

I'm not defending the quality of the sets, I'm just saying that some people should stop acting like ignorant assholes to people who buy them.

This is the part I don't like nor agree with. Show me proof that 85% of this board feels EXACTLY that way, because I certainly haven't witnessed it from that amount of members here and it's not like I only visit this board once in a blue moon.

Corey, have you "remastered" the footage with music that sounds like it came from Japan? If so,I'm completely sold.

Fuck the Dragonbox,i'm buying the CoreyBox. Its the way Dragonball Z was meant to be seen. Cheap and low buget.

@ jjgp1112

The funny thing is these "people" (whom apparently lack names) aren't being ignorant assholes. It starts with them pointing out the Season Sets have problems FUNImation lies about, then someone overreacts (I cite you, in this case) and says they're being jerks, and it all unfolds from there.

The circle begets itself. You've started over half of the arguments on this board about the Season Sets.

Well, in this instance, 'better product' is entirely subjective. The DragonBox is not a 'better product' as far as the average consumer (such as myself) is concerned. Sure, it's got the better picture, but the audio is worthless. I can't understand Japanese and there aren't any subtitles. Therefor, to me and many others, there isn't anything better than the Orange Bricks™ out there.

And in the end they are, while not the ultimate relase, a good deal. They're cheap, they have both the dub and the original JP audio, they have the JP music, and they've got quality subs for the JP version. You're trading picture for subs (I'll admit, trading nothing would be nice, but you make do with what you have). The problem is, from what I've seen, (though I've avoided 'discussions' about the sets) the atmosphere around the situation gives the impression that people against the sets view them a personal attack on them and that anyone who buys them is an idiot for not getting the DragonBoxes instead. Whether they can understand Japanese or not.

I understand what you are saying,as i own the 3 bricks already. And i was only speaking on the video itself, being as the Japanese sets are almost useless to an English speaking audience.
