For those who import Dragonball products

Post by Raki » Mon Mar 17, 2008 9:34 pm

Thought this was important for those of you who import Dragonball merchandise from Japan. The exchange rate for the Yen to the dollar is about 96 to 1. While these may seem unimportant now, the dollar is losing value every week. Sooner or later it will become too expensive to import those Dragonbox singles or those awesome figures. So buy now if you can.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

In other news, the Canadian dollar is staying strong despite the US dollar falling. One dollar CAD is currently worth almost $1.02 USD.

In still other news, as a Norwegian living in the US, I'm technically growing richer and richer every second by sitting on my ass watching the dollar sink.

Wait, the Canadian dollar is *really* above the U.S. dollar now? ALL THOSE BOOKS AND THEIR LIES!
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Damn. This news sucks dragon balls. I buy a lot of imports; not just DVDs. And I was planning on getting the rest of the Dragon Boxes (or singles) soon when I've saved up enough cash.

The world is coming to an end............for us Americans.

My hair wonders if this is a reference to something.

Anyway, I'm glad that I'm not really looking to import anything at the moment. But at least now it's much easier to convert from dollars to yen...

For a nice concrete example, check out the order form for the DBZ CD-BOX Chouzenshuu @ CDJapan. 19000 Yen is $193.84 USD but only $191.84 CAD.

That's it I blame Bush :lol
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

Yeah the Canadian Dollar is very strong at the moment, not as strong as it was in November, but still very strong!

Since I live in Winnipeg, the US border is only a 45 minute drive, so half the time we load up a car of people, and goto Grand forks for those great American prices! Everything is over priced here in Canada plus PST and GST (2 Taxes).

Yahoo Japan Auctions have some good priced D-Boxes at the moment. To be honest, lately I've been eying down those Spain DVD releases.

Don't forget the SouthPark miniseries "Imagination Land!"! Join me, and I'll let you have one of the wishes!

Just for reference... wasn't this topic the first of the "dollar is dying!" topics? :?

Yes it was. I was alarmed because I closely watch the dollar and how it's doing against foreign currency.
