Piccolo and Dende

I'm not sure if it's been posted before, but I have one question.

How come Dende is still young looking? I mean, during the 7 years Dende spent up at Kami's palace he didn't age that much, but for Piccolo it was only a few years during Dragonball and then he was in his teenage/adult years... why is that?

The most popular theory I've always seen is that since Piccolo is a reincarantion of Piccolo Daimao, he's not exactly a normal Namekkian. So since born of Daimao, his growth rate was faster. It makes the most sense to me personally.

That makes sense, though I always imagined it could be a warrior/elder thing, and that if members of each clan are actually born and bred differently, that they might grow and develop at different rates. Piccolo Daimao might've been technically a Dragon Clan Namekian, so he would have aged and gained power the same way Kami did. But then Piccolo Jr was spawned as a Warrior, and grew in both stature and power at a far faster rate.

Piccolo says something to the effect that he grew quickly because he"was of the demon clan" in the side story "In The Name of Piccolo Daimao".

I think the original Piccolo Daimao "designed" his son / reincarnation to age in such a way when he spat up the egg so he'd be able to fight Son Goku as quickly as possible.

That's kinda the angle I was thinking. Not knowing of their Namekian ancestry, Piccolo and Kami might still realize there were differences, and believe themselves to be gods/demons instead of Dragon Clan/Warrior Clan members.

But Kami is a genuine god (that being his job, not to mention what his name means), and Piccolo Daimao was an actual demon as well (being born from the evil inside Kami and all).

Right as soon he Piccolo spit him out, just like Tambourine. Piano seemed to be the only one that was average.

Dende and basically every other nameccian had a normal childhood and growth rate. But Daimaou thoroughly screwed Pic up all the way back in the egg, by taking a child and filling him with a few centuries of hatred and horrible memories. Pic had to get as large and dangerous as fast as possible to get his father's revenge, so he tossed in something to speed that up too.

I'm willing to agree with this theory.

Just from what I have seen from observing a certain place I visted once. I don't think Toriyama had any basis for what the background of Piccolo Daimou and his children were when he created them.
