Gintaman! (Dragonball OP parody)

Post by Calcaneus » Tue Apr 15, 2008 10:37 pm

In the 100th episode of the anime Gintama, they featured this fake Shonen anime called Gintaman and the opening for it had...interesting references to Dragonball. The DB stuff kicks in about halfway through the thing, but the whole video is just this huge over-the-top Shonen parody. Just a weird thing I came across, if its old then I apologize.

Gintama never fails to disappoint in the hilarity category. Another win for them!

That was fun. The song was totally in the vein of DBZ and I almost expected to hear Kageyama chime in at any moment. Thanks for sharing this.^^

Totally lost it when "Sparking!" chimed in. That was great.

I didn't expect much DBZ after seeing a half dozen other anime parodied half way through. 'Goku' came riding kinto'un and I thought 'haha', but that'd be it. Then it just keeps going. And 'Sparking!' almost made me shoot milk from my nose.

Fantastic find. :)

Wow. That was fantastic, It's really awesome to still see Dragonball in modern media.

I love how the it starts of like a shounen anime parody, then the animators just said screw It and copied the rest of the Dragonball intro.

First time I was watching this I got bored because there wasn't anything db, then in the last twenty seconds it just got blatant and fantastic. Especially the 'sparking!" because that bit of engrish always fills me with joy.

Gin, the kanji for 'silver' and the source of the gin in Gintama.
