The Opening of Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan on ANT1 Greece on February 15, 1998

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

The Opening of Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan on ANT1 Greece on February 15, 1998

I just saw the video and oh well... as if the situation with the Opening and Ending themes wasn't confusing enough: Some weird facts about the sources of the Greek dub from ANT1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-xl5zQRLOY

According to the description:
The Opening of the Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan movie for some reason played on ANT1 on February 15, 1998 shortly before the screening of the 1st episode of the Dragon Ball Z series. Due to the Dragon Ball Z: The Movie (0:03) and Burning Fight (0:55) we understand that the Opening comes from this particular movie. Then it follows the Greek Opening theme of the OG Dragon Ball series and the beginning of the episode. The credits in the Opening for some reason are in Italian.

And the last one is quite strange since I don't think there was any Italian dubbing of the film back in early 1998.

If I recall correctly, the Z movies did receive Italian dubs in the 90s but they were produced by Dynit instead of Mediaset, and unlike the series, they were recorded in Rome instead of Milan.
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years :)

Never knew about this, that's even stranger than in the UK where the Westwood OP was used for the Saban dub and sometimes vice versa.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

It's strange though because ANT1 was never involved with the movies with the exception of (perhaps) the first one.
