We can take up a collection, if it will help you sleep.

I hate to say it, but I might do the same.fps_anth wrote:Sorry, but the second I see that torrent, I'm downloading that shit. And then the fansub.
But, of course, I'll also be purchasing the DVD when it's released here. I just wanna see it as soon as possible!

However, depending on how soon the official release comes out, I may just wait for it!(I can't wait a few months.)
On a side note, do you think Funimation will do the One Piece special if they do this one?
Fuck, if anyone finds an uploader, be sure and tell me. I'd probably put out cash for a DVD too (R1, R2, Pirates say arrrr, I don't care) if it ever happens.Dayspring wrote:Am I seriously the only person who has every intention of downloading this (without feeling remotely bad about it) regardless of whether or not there's an official DVD release? Nope!Dayspring wrote:Am I seriously the only person who has every intention of downloading this (without feeling remotely bad about it) regardless of whether or not there's an official DVD release? Unless a flawless English sub is on it, I'm not interested in owning it one bit.
We've already gone over those pictures quite a bit. Aka is labled as "Merged Aka", so at the very least he's a fusion of something. Although is it true what that page says about them being drawn by Toriyama ("Akira")? I hadn't heard that, and they're not labled as such.ssjmarcus19902 wrote:http://www.thedragonballmovies.com/2008 ... -pictures/
Just a thought, could Aka be a fusion of Abo and Kado?
We know that Aka is a fused character that will be in this special, but we don't know if it is a fusion of Avo and Kado. I doubt that there will be another fused character named Avo and Kado because that would mean that there are at least two more bad guys to unveil and at least two enemy fusions...and to me that seems a little over the top.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:I take it their names are supposed to Avo and Cado (forming Avocado)?
What would I call it?johnboy1 wrote:But there is. It was released on VHS before the Playdia games were released. So, if an original animation sees its first release on home video, what exactly would you call it?Dayspring wrote:Because there is no OVA?
If you're refering to the Playdia footage, there's no real point. It would also be more complicated to get the rights.
Semantics aside, why would the rights be more complicated? Were the distribution privileges actually sold to Bandai when the Playdia games came out? I would also argue that there's a very big point: FUNimation has run out of Dragon Ball! All three series, all 17 movies, and both TV Specials have been released on DVD at one point or another (and those out of print should see release within the next few years, mark my words). To come up with something new would be beneficial, especially once the Colored Bricks have run their course. And the only new things they CAN come up with are this new movie showing in a few days and... the OVA. That's it.
It's really both sad and satisfying, in a way. I never thought the day would come when the Dragon Ball franchise would be available in its entirety in America. That also means that there won't be much to look forward to, outside of games for systems I don't have.
Fucking hell. This is the kind of diarrhea of the mouth I'd expect to see on GameFAQs or ANN, not here. No, just because it exists you are not entitled to see it. Yes, the makers of the product are entitled to get paid for their efforts no matter how much of a fucking hassle it is for you to compensate them.Dude its in fucking Japan. There is nothing wrong with downloading something you have no practical legal way to see. If there is a real dvd release you have a sorta point. But otherwise thats just being a self righteous ass.
Meh. Its got about an hours footage (longer than most DBZ movies), its about as canonical as any other Z movie (which isn't much), its a movie to me. Not to mention its better than some of the actual movies.Xyex wrote:
There's more NES video game footage on that VHS than there is animation. OVA implies that it is a movie. Plan to Erradicate the Saiya-jins is not a movie. It's a video game and a video game walkthrough with some nifty animations to help catch peoples attentions and make them buy it.
Um its not bullshit. But guess what you can whine, moan and be a self righteous ass, but I'm still going to download it. See nobody said anything about entitlement. It is there and for the taking, I will take. Get it son? Once a legal means for me to obtain a copy appears I will then buy it. I've spent over 200 dollars on Dragonball this year. I've spent a ton more on other shows and books I could easily get for free. So take your speechifying and shove it.Fucking hell. "No practical legal way to see" is bullshit and you know it. There's always a practical legal way to see something and if you miss out you miss out. Get the fuck over yourself. Damn.
