SYNOPSIS: Luffy (HAYDEN CHRISTENSON) was a 30 year Burger Emperor manager, living a bland life with his fiance, Nami (HAYDEN PANETTIERE) when he decides to "shake things up" a bit!
Inspired by his father, Captain "Bald-head" Shanks (DANNY DeVITO), Luffy realizes he needs more excitement in his life!
Now, with his best friend Usopp (SNOOP DOGG) and Steve (DANE COOK), Luffy buys himself a motor boat and sets out to Mexico on the open seas!

But oh noes! Along the way he's waylaid by the Coast Guard Lieutenant Smoker (WILLIAM SHATNER) and gets tied up with Mexican drug lord Arlong! (GEORGE LOPEZ)

Coming Soon 2011
20th Century Fox
Sure its not a faithful adaptation but its One Piece so I'm going to see it.

I liked this better when it was called Bulletproof Monk.

On a semi-random note, anyone else find it kinda awkward that the school bully is attempting to murder "our hero" at one point? At least that's what I'm interpreting, considering Chatku's being attacked with swords and all. I mean, really, I haven't seen something like that since the conclusion to Back to the Future Part II. Ain't complaining about this, just saying it's kinda awkward from my point of view. :P

People mentioned the purpose of the solar eclipse a page back, saying it was probably for Goku's transformation- But maybe it's because someone summons Shenron?

Anyway, what really bothered me about the trailer was the first cheesy line that rimed. I'm seriously hoping for a better trailer on Oct 17th, even though I have given up on this movie. ^^"

Conan the SSJ: I agree, I wonder what's up with that. o.o I also noticed that the bully accidentally smashes his own car window in the progress. ^^"

Is it a sword? I thought it was a tire iron or something like that.

Yeah, it looked like an iron bar or a pipe to me. If they've already gotten a glimpse of Goku's raw strength in some way but still wanted to attempt beating on him, they'd probably be smart enough to figure their fists wouldn't cut it.

Not sure if this was brought up before cause I'm not going back to read 30 pages, but did anyone else notice when Roshi used a technique that looked a hell of a lot like the Mafuba?

I checked, and I think you're right.

Kaboom, that drawing is really good, I have seen professional sketches that were way worse. I just recently perused your Deviant art page and you are really quite good.

Anyway, I am currently on the verge of writing my own Dragonball movie, I have a ton of idea's in my head, and I think it could be awesome while simultaneous containing almost every major villain from Dragonball. And yes, I have written a screenplay before, so it should be a snap, other than planning and what not, it shouldn't take that long.

It wouldn't be that hard. You'd still have a mad scientist who wants to A) kill Goku and B) rule the world (in that order). You would just have to tweak his motivations. It could even be as simple as toning down his personal vendetta and making him a bit more Dr. Wily-ish. He still wants to take over the world, but the reason he targets Goku is less "I hate you for ruining my career" and just simple practicality (take out the biggest threat).
It’s rather dumb either way, considering how very easily workable the Red Ribbon would be in this movie, even WITH Piccolo as the lead villain. Just have them be the guys who initially release him, attempting to try and control and exploit his power to help them conquer the world… but instead of course, Piccolo is too much for them to control, and he winds up using the army as his lackeys instead to help him gather the Dragon Balls. The RR soldiers would also make rather good cannon fodder for Goku and co. throughout the movie.
So, you don't remember Queen of the Damned, then.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Well, normally I don't tend to immediately think Anne Rice when contemplating Akira Toriyama related shit, no. :P

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

The movie, not the book. Don't be a smartass :p

The movie decided that they could condense The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned novels into one film. We wound up covering twice as much territory with half as much depth or impact.

My point being, to a dangerous place your line of thought could lead us.

About Chatwin's Goku's "I'm not ready for this." and why it bothers me.
Just throwing a quote from volume 22 of the manga out there:
Kaio-sama: Goku...your greatest strength has always been your belief that you can handle anything....but not this time, Son! No one can handle this one! Just stay away!
Goku: ...huh...? B-but what...?
Kaio-sama: Goku, I command you!! When you reach Namek, just grab the three of them and run away!! I'm not saying this just for your sake, boy!! I say it for the sake of the Earth--and Namek--and all the planets!! Attacking Freeza can only make him angry!! And the anger of Freeza can bring only...only...horrors I fear to describe!!
Goku: I never know there was anybody that powerful...I'd hate to be that close to him and not even get to see him...

Goku is more curious about insanely strong guys instead of having a fear of what they could do to him.
On hiatus.

Then again, Gokû never had to deal with highschool bullies.

Well since the movie really isn't "Dragon Ball" I guess he can't be called "Goku" then can he? :? He's just some kid in High School that can fight really well and happens to be from outer space.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

If we're all here for a reason then I'm just visiting.

Personally, I like the concept of the school bully trying to murder the hero. It's kind of twisted but feels realistic at the same time, plus I thought that really worked in BTTF2.

Loved all the shots of Chichi in the trailer, but no character call? WTH?
