I can't believe I just read (the majority of) 45 pages worth of this. @_@;
Either way, a few thoughts, but first,
As for the Brolli issue, I'm inclined to think he won't show up. Those 'pages' seem to be much older work of his, based on the art and even inking style - likely before he started doing the AF proper. As some have mentioned already, his ideas seem to be taken from the more well-known aspects of the old AF rumors - they would have to be the 'big' ones to make it all the way to Japan, given that he supposedly doesn't speak English and wouldn't likely be browsing old English DBZ fansites, which could explain why his story isn't identical to all those old 'summaries' and only uses base ideas like the concept of Xicor being the son of Gokou and a Goddess, and the design of SSJ5/Gokou's new dogi. Among those old rumors was the ever-popular Brolli coming back as a main character, so it's likely he just drew his own idea for the infamous SSJ5 transformation and based it on those old rumors...given how AF has a surprising amount of thought put into the story compared to many fan comics, I find it more likely that he's taken the story in his own direction since, and decided to keep Brolli out of the picture. Conjecture, of course, but those SSJ5 pages are noticeably older and less refined artwork, so I think my theory has some merit to it.
Anyways...I'm in love with the art. Somehow his designs are Toriyama-esque while still unique, and that Daizenshuu-style cover art is particularly awesome. I must say, if this were 2001 and I was still a clueless and obsessed DB fan, and I saw these pages...it's no doubt that some people could really be fooled into thinking this was 'official'. Less serious or newer fans could easily mistake Toyble's art for Toriyama-Sensei's. If not for the fact that it follows GT, the art style is frighteningly similar to the Buu era of the Manga.
Story-wise, like I said, it's got a surprising amount of thought put into it...he clearly didn't just shit out a basic villain and premise like all too many fan Manga do, basically. Elements like the West Kaiohshin's backstory (sidenote, reading this thread, I was surprised at how many people didn't realize that's who the character was...granted I didn't understand the story as of page 1, but there was no mistaking the character design o.o), Tapion's tie-in, and even the beginnings of explaining what happened to Gokou at the end of GT were obviously thought out ahead of time.
I also thought it was nice to see things like Papayaman, and Piccolo in Hell (and though I wouldn't exactly call anything with nerd Gohan 'nice', I liked the whole 'Professor Gohan' thing, because the idea that he'd become a teacher is present in my fanfic as well). Basically, while there's a lot of uber-powerful fighting going on, and I've always hated forms above SSJ1, I appreciate it because of the story's attention to detail and attempts to incorporate elements DBZ didn't expand upon...such as the Kaiohshin, as I'm certain we'll learn more of them in the future. I'd love it if Toyble continued this trend and brought about some incorporation of such things as the Tsufurujin or Dabra's Demon Plane.
Overall, definitely keeping up with this one, and eager to see where it goes...it has great potential to bomb, but it's also got a great deal of potential to be insanely fucking awesome.
Either way, a few thoughts, but first,
Highly doubtful. The blog implies he's just one fan, and probably not even semi-professional (like one could call many Doujinshi authors) due to the tracing issue. Yes, his art is fantastic, but in spite of that there have been obvious spottings of tracing or...well, let's call it 'extreme use of reference'. Typically you wouldn't expect a professional Doujinshi artist/circle to draw so heavily from the source material, let alone the claims of it being someone who was staffed by Toei. Don't trust things you hear on n00bish Dragonball forums; it was probably just a rumor.JulieYBM wrote:That 'Toyble is a name for four people' rumor must be true, ala CLAMP or whatever...

Just waiting on zips to upload now, but 119 and 120 are done and 121 and 122 are ready for translation. 101-110.zip and 111-120.zip have the updated pages (108, 110, 111), and two new 'extras' are up, and Tarble and Gure's names are proper now.
Should be any minute now.

Can someone ask Toyble if he is going to include Broli after all? I do not see the point in drawing him initially and creating wallpapers and the like just to exclude him later. He might even have Tarble and Gure show up later for some reason.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

Sweetness.
So, did Toyble say if he was going to upload his Comike exclusive content to the blog or what??
EDIT: Also, I'm thinking these last few pages (up to 130) will be the end of the first fight and probably fighting as a whole for a little bit. If Xicor is stored in the sword West Kaiôshin will have to figure out a way to free him.
