Hope these
hacks help..
Resize Avatar - resize off-site avatars to fit the maximum size set in the acp.
Check Avatar Size - with this hack, the remote avatar's size is checked.

I kept getting confused as to why my avatar kept disappearing without notice. Got it fixed now.

Serious, y'allz. Your avatars aren't mysteriously disappearing. There's no forum glitch.
If your avatar no longer exists, it's because
it's manually being removed. Any avatar that exceeds 80 pixels in either its height or width will be removed on sight. Please do not keep re-adding it, because I will keep removing it!

. . . have you been getting complaints about that lately? Because the post previous to yours is from 2006.

Mike... ?
A necroposter... ?
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Can you necropost a sticky?
Oh, also, is there a specific reason for the 80x80 limit?

You can't necropost a sticky. Mike isn't breaking any rules.
I simply found it to be strange timing and pointed it out; nothing more, nothing less.

I know that avatars cannot exceed 80x80, but is it that they cannot be larger than 80 in any one dimension, or is it a matter of area. That is to say, something like 64x100 is technically the same size, but is it acceptable? Keeping in mind that 1X640 is obviously absurd.

May I please have a source on your avatar? It's freaking amazing.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. Or did you need something more specific than that?
Of course, I don't remember the scene being
quite like that.

With the new forum, your avatar will actually resize itself, but you should still resize it manually to keep it from looking bad (the resizing process doesn't look good) and to keep the filesize down (for those with slow connections).

Yeah, haha, I meant more specifically. I know it's been edited and stuff

You know, with pretty much everyone on resolutions of 1024x768 or higher these days (even me!) 80x80 pixel avatars are kind of... small. 100x100 would, I think, be better. It's not a huge difference, wouldn't take up any more space (the side bars are already wider than that), but those extra 40 pixels would make things not look quite so small on larger resolutions.

I agree, 100x100 would be nice.

20 x 20 ≠ 40, it would be 400 extra pixels.
Also, I agree, most forums have pretty laid back rules regarding avatars (just don't make them stretch the bar, etc) but more organised forums usually go for 100X100, which would kick ass on here.
Though I know some places don't even have avatars... but GIANT ass signatures...

Wouldn't it be an extra 3600 pixels?

I don' know; they look fine to me. My resolution is 1366x768, and they seem just right. I notice them, but they aren't obtrusive.
Amigo Ten wrote:Wouldn't it be an extra 3600 pixels?
Yep.
80*80=6400
100*100=10,000
10,000
-6400
