Well, FUNi's actually been doing this for some time, so this isn't that big of a surprised.
Like some other people, I just got the set in the mail today and from what I've seen, everything looks absolutely frikkin' gorgeous. Here's just a couple screenshots (note: taken with the cheap-o snipping tool, so videophiles don't expect much

).
As I'm sure people before me have mentioned, the menus are in 16:9, but the video plays in normal 4:3. And in response to
TanookiKuribo, besides the dragon book and the episodes being as awesome as they are, there's nothing you'd really consider an extra unless there are some super secret easter eggs we weren't told of.
Also, I noticed they actually have the according Romanji during the OP (and I'm assuming ED, though I haven't checked that part yet) scrolling above while the translated lyrics show below. Is this something FUNi's been doing as of late or is it just with this release? I just find it kinda odd since the only legit release I have that follows this fashion would be Bandai's releases.
Here's some
dragon book scans. I'd have included them in the post, but I didn't realize how massive they were.
Pretty standard stuff you'd expect from the book. Skimming through some stuff, you could really tell that some things were translated from Japanese... or at least that's how it seems like what with the whole lack of prose flowing in a good number of instances. One problem people brought up with the Orange Brick set booklet was that they'd have no idea which episodes would be on which disc. I'd say they did the same with the dragon book, but the very first page with the contents lists which episodes are on which discs and it's also mentioned in the episode listing as you page through the summaries. The only weird thing I noticed was the whole timeline of events. I mean, I get that FUNi's trying to be all "hey, we're acknowledging that it's a show from Japan," but taking events from Japanese culture without really giving too much backstory behind them just seemed a bit off to me. Then again, I guess having Charlie Brown mentioned in the timeline would be stranger than having the Jojo manga mentioned like it is. All in all, nothing too bad to write home about.
And another thing: while still packaged, there's an
insert page thing stickied onto the back of the cover giving a little description of the dragon box's awesomeness. I always find these little slip things annoying, since they're not really part of the packaging once opened and you just have to slip it inside the case along with the videogame slips. Kinda cumbersome, but again, nothing big.
