Toyble DBAF [June 9, 2012] Vol 4 HD release complete

DB Zero has a collection of background stuffage (設定集; not too sure what this means, maybe character designs and whatnot?) added in back, so that’s why it’s page count is higher than the Rough Draft version.

"Setting Collection", basically the materials from the conceptualization stages. Setting Material Collections are sold pretty frequently in Japan, and usually contain hundreds of pages of concept art, drafts, storyboards, unused scenarios, timelines, glossaries, and canon plot details that never made it into the final product.

Also, I'd definitely be interested in reading DB Zero.

He fell asleep, during which time Lyra took some of his blood (as Vegeta deduces, but Goku never knew), and when he woke up Lyra and co. were gone. That's why he ended up being late to stop Freeza and Cold.

I'm actually relieved that Xicor's origin story wasn't completely re[seriously, stop that]ed as I thought it would be. And it made sense too. I give props to Toyable for not going wild and crazy with Xicor's origin.

But know it's time to do what I do best: Nick pick and complain for no reason! Gee, So it's revealed that Xicor's is an enhanced clone of Goku and possibly combination of other superior beings, sent to earth to destroy the "Z" warriors. Where have I heard this story before? Oh where indeed. That doesn't sound like Cell at all. Not. One. Bit.

And why did Gohan looked so shocked in the bottom panel of the last page? I swear he better not pull one of those "If he's a clone of my father, then technically he's my brother. Would it be right to kill him?" or something of that nonsense. Vegeta should slap him if Gohan so much as dare to show a pinch of remorse.

Xicor's origin sounds decent, and not something stupid you see in most fanboy fan fictions. I wounder he got those two spike like things on his chin from? Maybe he is part of the Shadow Dragons also.

Although that sounds a bit far-fetched, it would explain Suushinron's random appearance.

To start off the new year, Toyble’s put up these 3 pages. He was thinking of waiting until he had more done before making another update, but ultimately went and put these 3 up as a new year’s greeting…and also because it’s been so long since the last update. 3 months altogether, in fact, which Toyble apologies for. Also, somebody pointed out a mistake in Vegeta’s original lines, so it’s been corrected now.

In other news, you can now order DB Zero through Mandarake, though it doesn’t come with the little booklet that those sold at Comiket had (that Barduck thing).
