My bid was for Mister Saturn, but to no avail.
You wanted to change it to something similar? So did you bid for Yemma instead of Enma too, or did they just make you write Yemma?

They were doing Yemma before I ever got there.

Hercule is wordfiltered to Mr. Satan.

It's always funny watching this happen.
Where's the beef?

Ah. I was asking because I've renting the Ultimate Uncut eps, and the subs to the Japanese version used Yemma.

Really? That seems weird. I never understood why it was changed from Enma to Yemma. Enma isn't that hard to pronounce (unless I've always did it wrong, which is probably the case).

Really? If that's the case, it's a change further on down the production line from the scripts I've submitted (like what happened with the Ginyu discs). I've been spelling it "Yama," like it appears on the Oni's shirts.

I could be horribly wrong but somewhere along the line I heard that 'Yemma' is a pronounciation for Enma in....Chinese? It's possible since the same symbols would be used but pronounced differently so yemma would still be legitimate if not more accurate name just like Son Wukong as opposed to Son Gokuh.

Not really. You're not supposed to be translating the inspirations, you're supposed to translate the story. It would be like calling Goku "Son Wukong" all throughout DB.

Daimao: They may have switched further down the line. I've only seen the first three volumes. (Naturally I'm referring to when Goku is first brought before Enma)

What about movie 12? Will the subs use "Daio" all the time?

Speaking of changes, who the heck's been changing Sheska to "Scieszka" on the Fullmetal Alchemist subtitles? I hate that name!

I use "Yama the Great" and "Great King Yama" for DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho (though I'm not sure which one goes with which series, and I have to double-check each time it comes up, to keep it internally consistent for each). The movie should use whichever one is right for DBZ.

*groan* Don't even get me started on the name spellings in FMA. Between Sony's "official" spellings (which I'm sure are rife with typos), the style guide the dub writers have been using, and the actual kana used in the Japanese recording scripts (and I presume in the manga), it's a wonder any spelling is consistently used.
