What does CHA-LA-HEAD-CHA-LA mean anyway?

What does CHA-LA-HEAD-CHA-LA mean anyway?

Post by Sebastian (SB) » Mon Mar 06, 2006 9:13 pm

As I was listening to a particular DB song, there was always a question that was I pondering,"What the heck does CHA-LA-HEAD-CHA-LA mean
anyway?" Of course I can go on assuming that the only significance it has within the song just to extend inbetween the song & let alone it be the title. I'm also concerned as to why it was chosen as the title. I don't dislike the song in anyway, infact it's one of my favorites, It's just that I wanna know if the title has any significance (aside from what I posted) or meaning . Theories are always welcome.

EDIT: Just found the meaning. According to Julian's translation Head-Cha-La is actually a rough English-ization of the Japanese slang word “hetchara,” whose meaning is roughly “it’s no problem” or “I can handle it.” Darn well this thread can be closed if Mike feels so. I should to look at the site before doing these things.

I always figured it was to go with the "English words are cool" fad that carries in Japanese Music... but Julian's answer is good to :P
Just remember, everytime something bad is happening to you. Something even worse is happening to someone else.

It sure doesn't sound like an english word, though my other assumption was that it came from some native language.

"There's a site too?!"
Julian wrote:“Head-Cha-La” is actually a rough English-ization of the Japanese slang word “hetchara,” whose meaning is roughly “it’s no problem” or “I can handle it.” I have chosen not to change it in my translation, because it is the title of the song, and its most recognizable line.

I don't think you've seen my edit or it's just something you like to do?
